i don't get.... and maybe it's explained in books or something...
BUT HOW IN THE fukk IS HANNIBAL STILL AROUND????
will said it was him... ok will's crazy right... but you telling me NOBODY suspects this man.. they let him work active cases.. take his full advice... look in his creepy eyes... hear his creepy talking... find that murders seem to keep popping up more and more, the longer he's around... people he associates with or knows, all turn up dead
like nobody even floats the possibility that it could be him... "no dna evidence on clothes" aight he straight.. don't tail him or tap his phone or gps his ass or NOTHING... matter of fact, go ahead and give him will's job and let him testify in court and solve crimes

Nothing is fat fetched for TV police no matter the universe.
Hannibal is incredibly meticulous. He does this. To such a degree that even if you weren't crazy, saying his name would paint you in that light. He's never had a match let alone an equal until Will. In this universe, he's not creepy in the least. There would be no inkling for that thought to even materialize.

i'm not talking about outsmarting cops
i'm talking about basic common sense... if you're star fbi investigator has just named someone as a killer... no matter how crazy... you MIGHT not want to put that man on more cases, put him on the stand, let him interview his accuser multiple times, and have free reign of fbi resources with NO MOTHERfukkING FULL INVESTIGAION ON HIM.... not, test for some dna... but follow that nikka around and track his whereabouts for a couple months

im not sure we are watching the same show. It would make no sense for the police to be suspicious of Hannibal. Will is crazy and has mountains of DNA evidence against him. Hannibal volunteered for an FBI investigation and they found nothing against him.
Not to mention, Hannibal HAS been discovered by at least two people and will be dicovered by Jack soon
This is Hannibal we are talking about. Anything and everything Will says is automatically filed as "Chill, you know son is crazy." The characters had a good thing going with Will and are thankful for Hannibal to pick up his slack. You're over analyzing and getting tight over the basic premise of the show and these characters.

i'm simply asking if this was explained in the books
yes i'm watching the show... from day 1... seen all the movies... just never read any books, which tend to shed more light on things
so again.... hannibal shows up... will immediately starts flipping out and going fukking nuttier than normal.... then:
- Murdered Cassie Boyle as a 'copycat' of the crimes of Garret Jacob Hobbs to present Graham with a clearer picture of the true killer's motives.
- Murdered Marissa Schurr, framing Nicholas Boyle to see how Abigail would react.
- Murdered Franklyn Froideveaux, framing Tobias Budge, who he then murdered after a lengthy struggle.
- Murdered his colleague and old friend, Donald Sutcliffe, although he made it look like it was Georgia Madchen who killed him, originally intending to frame Graham for the murder which he still intended to do.
- Murdered Georgia Madchen, to cover up his murder of Dr. Sutcliffe, but also to continue the framing of Graham.
- Murdered Dr. Carson Nahn in a copycat murder of Abel Gideon's murder of Dr. Carruthers and also cut off his arm to tell the FBI where to catch Gideon.
- Murdered Abigail Hobbs, again to frame Graham.
all those people came in DIRECT contact with BOTH hannibal and will... will gets framed... and for MONTHS is saying it's hannibal
y'all gonna sit here and tell me with a straight face... that the fbi isn't gonna go further than testing some clothes on this man????
ok cool, that's all they gonna do... i'll believe that
y'all gonna sit here and tell me, they gonna hire this man to the fbi, give him will's job... then procede to let him go back and study will.... and after all that, the us government is gonna allow this man to testify at will's trial

oh ok.. cool.... now more murders start popping up.. will is telling you exactly how to find these people and that hannibal is still involved.. and that it's mighty weird how this guy is on the case and killers are now randomly being sewn into things by random people...
and i'm not saying they should have caught him... i'm saying where the fukk is an investigation into this by more people than the fukking medical examiner??

You are trivializing the investigation that Hannibal voluntarily submitted to which included DNA testing and interviews with people who knew him including his psychiatrist
You are trivializing Hannibal's ability to manipulate and cover his tracks
You are trivializing the fact that the one person at the FBI who Will has had consistent contact with about fresh cases HAS discovered Hannibal
You are lacking self awareness on this issue. You as a viewer are privy to information that the characters are not. You are not viewing it from their perspective, you are are only viewing it from your own and can't figure out why they aren't seeing it like you are.
What you are asking for (an extended investigation of Hannibal) is literally something that would get laughed out of the FBI office in reality. 'Oh yeah lets devote a bunch of resources to investigate this clean guy who was accused by this crazy schizophrenic guy who blacks out for extended periods and puked out a corpse's ear'

ok see that makes a little sense... me trivializing hannibal's greatness... cause on the show, they don't show a lot of his greatness... just a suit (with his long hair completely out), and his murders... they never really talk about how he gets away with this stuff.. and who sees him and who doesn't
i just took it like all bs parts in a movie when..... the best friend screams "he's a cop" for an hour and a half, and the main guy doesn't ever believe him until the point he's getting arrested.
with the ripper having about 30 murders and will having about 8... i just would think the fbi would take these damn near 40 murders a little more serious... i mean shyt... it's been like 20 years and test and lie detectors and they STILL think the ramsey's killed their daughter... imagine if OJ was on tv saying "nah nikka it was marcus allen, i seen him"
but maybe i do have too much insight on this.. i do love this show... best show on regular tv and top 10 in general right now.. that just really started fukking with me on the last episode... they getting cliche with the "one person believes me so go at it alone and tell no one else but get killed before you do that" plot
and i bet again, no one will suspect hannibal even after will tells them "she was just with me yesterday and said she was gonna investigate hannibal"

You seem to have invented this "trial of the century and Will Graham shouting Hannibal's name on TV" angle entirely in your head. None of that has been shown or implied in the series.

Ex FBI agent who catches all these killers, is turned out to be a mass murderer, killing 8 people. Are you telling me that wouldn't be a major case? And that tv news wouldn't cover it and the people involved? This is America!!
And I didn't say he screamed it to the tv. He screamed it to the FBI. Everyone there knows Will, worked with him for months and years, and none of them barely know Hannibal except Morpheus. None of them riding with homie on some "hey maybe he could be right" everybody just goes "ehhh nah. Will we all had you wrong. You are really a killer".
Edit: it's been said in court he blamed Hannibal. So in essence, he did say it to the camera. Cause I'm pretty sure a newspaper or cnn would be at THAT trial
AND HAVE WE FORGOT A ROOKIE FBI AGENT CAUGHT HANNIBAL FIRST SEASON. AND A MEDICAL EXAMINER IN SECOND. But the bosses and real detectives are just oblivious. Not that they can't catch him. Completely retarded to the fact to even pay him attention while more murders happen

But I'm over that now. I chalk it up to movie magic or whatever. Or maybe they'll show it one day. How it all comes together when he's caught finally

I just got caught up through episode 2 of this season last night (started semi-binge watching the series from the beginning for the first time after True Detective ended), and the opening scene of that dude escaping made me laugh at how silly american standards and practices are...they can show that kind of horrific gruesome sh!t on network television with no problem, but a f-bomb or a nipple is a forbidden TV deadly sin
