Hello fellow natural hair ladies!

On Feb 16th of this year I did the BKT while doing the big chop.
My boo Robvanham helped me cut about 3-5 inches off so I was looking like:
Rihanna-bob-hair-cut-200x300.jpg
Minus the long bangs.
Having a man cut a woman's hair will cause it to grow faster, longer and stronger according to my Haitian relatives and friends. Yes I am superstitious haha!

Well it's been 3 months since my BKT & BC & in 3 months I've grown 3 inches!! Robvanham is visibly more excited then I am. :mjpls:

Here's what I did to achieve 3 inches in 3 months:
Wash atleast once a week using
creme-of-nature-ultra-moisturizing-shampoo-32.jpg
, but whenever I feel that my hair is dry then I wash it. This is the ONLY washing agent that I use. I also make sure to detangle my hair BEFORE washing so that it doesn't knot up or dread like it has before in the past :to:

Next I put a dime amount of heat protectant & evenly spread it around my hair while making sure to cover the ends of my hair (which is the most fragile as we all should know).

Then I put a quarter size of
100_0829.JPG
and spread that evenly as well.

Next, I take my fukkING AMAZING Conair Blow Dryer aka best hair dryer I've ever used with the comb attachment & spend the next 3-5 minutes blow drying my hair. :smugbiden:

Then I style it as desired. Usually I would flat iron with my amazing
514bf7b7d6568.jpg
& put the temp to 370.
I heat train my new growth & also when I use the straightener I make sure to run it over the hair quickly so that it doesn't cause heat damage (which it hasn't).

But anyway, seeing that my hair has grown 3 inches in 3 months, it has motivated me to try to achieve an even faster rate of hair growth! (Even though they say its impossible to grow more than 1 inch/month)

So starting now i'm adding deep conditioning once a week to my regimen.
I plan to use my
300.jpg
mixed with my
mega-tek-rebuilder.jpg
that I haven't used for a while.
Megatek does grow my hair faster but I stopped using it in the past when I used to texturize my hair because it would grow so fast that every week I would need to touch up my roots, so I just stopped using it.

Anyway, I'm going to do my regular shampoo/conditioning routine & then apply the CSB+MT mixture in my wet hair shortly after shower. After spreading it evenly & rubbing it in my scalp for 10 minutes, I put on a cap for 30 mintutes & then rinse. Then repeat the blow-dry/style process.

The key to hair growth is:
Hair Retention

Care for your hair like it's an expensive silk fabric & it will last longer, be stronger & most of all be BEAUTIFUL! :wrist:

The end.

I love headbands!!

My usual work style. I twist the front because I have a big head and the front sometimes wants to act up. Excuse the double chin, it's almost gone ;)

My last attempt at straightening :sadbron: this was... Four months ago? My hair is collarbone length when I stretch it.

Fresh out the shower.

Ok, that's enough.

To anybody with dread knowledge what's the pro/con with crocheting rather than just a retwist with gel

Because crochet does have a tendency to cause broken hair once the tightness you get from crochet begins to wear off the broken hairs become more visible as frizz and loose hairs. This means that crocheting begets crocheting and it's probably not wise to start doing it unless you plan on doing it regularly and relatively often. You can stop, of course, anytime you want but you may have to deal with a lot of frizz before your dreads start to lock up naturally again. TOO much crocheting, especially if done incorrectly, can actually break dreads so badly that you will seriously compromise the strength of the entire dread.

My official opinion on crochet at this point is that crocheting is okay IN MODERATION! I wouldn't recommend crocheting any more frequently than once a month. More than that and I think you seriously need to worry about the breakage you may be causing.
