Bad strategy on Leclerc's side of the garage, bad strategy by Merc. When they get it wrong it seems to be that they're relying on massive tire deg in the late stages of the race. Hindsight is 20/20, but they probably didn't extend that stint long enough. Vettel had just caught traffic and no outlap was going to close 8 seconds.

My big problem with Mercedes is that they never go for it.

They have better tyre life. They had the better race pace when in clear air.

Go for the undercut. They kept waiting on a safety car that didn't show, and based on the Kyvat deltas they would have gotten in front on of the train.

What the hellwas Wolff thinking leaving Hamilton out so long after Leclerc pitted?
Wolff isn't making those strategy calls, it's James Vowels I believe. Some days they just get it plain wrong and today was one of those days. When they saw Vettel put in a mid to low 45 when Hamilton and Leclerc were putting in high 47s, they should have boxed regardless of what Leclerc did. Track position was going to be more valuable than several laps fresher tires.

These F2 races are entertaining, if nothing else but to hear how enthusiastic Davide Valsecchi gets during the commentary.
Nyck Devries clenched the F2 championship. I probably would have followed it more closely if F1TV had the damn onboards. They had it for Bahrain and then got rid of it. I was hoping for more out of Tatiana CalderĆ³n but she was just a disappointment. Hopefully Jaime Chadwick can move into F2 before too long and be competitive.
