Nasri not being in the france team is the biggest disgrace of the wc2014 so far....
Nasri 7 Goals 7 Assists in premier league. Valbuena 3 goals 7 assists in ligue 1
It's not FIFA where you get to look at the average rating and put the best players possible at each position.
On FIFA, Nasri may be something like 85 and Valbuena 80 (and yes the former is a better footballer) but in reality when Nasri plays for the NT, he's like 75 while Valbuena is still at 80. Valbuena has NEVER disappointed when he plays for the NT and that's why his place was secured months ago. Valbuena though he's less known, less talented and plays in the less known club is a soldier who knows his place. He's a natural 10 but he can also play as a winger and he will do whatever he's told to while also doing it well. Against you, he was a right winger and had an assist and a few good key passes.

Nasri, on the opposite, has 3 problems in the NT :
- He hates being a sub (he thinks he's too talented for that) and fukks the whole team mood up when so. Therefore a few NT starters voiced their opinion for him to GTFOH and Deschamps also agrees that he's a cancer when he's not a starter. Even Benzema shat on him after Sweden defeat in 2012, telling him he was hogging the ball too much.
- He dribbles TOO much and slow downs the build-up, which can work really well at City who are more possession football oriented than France (which is more vertical).
- He never stays in the position he's told to. When he's a 10, he's too deep creating a no man's land in our midfield. When he's a right winger, he's too central creating a no man's land on the right and overloading the midfield and failing to link up with the right back while doing so.

At City again, the two latter points are great because this team is a fluid 4/4/2 who changes depending on the movement so the players can move around the pitch as they feel but in the NT, Deschamps likes a solid shape and needs some players to stick to their position and their role. On top of that, there's no place for him really. We played better without him in our last matches (and against you too even if you lacked a few starters and Blind got injured early). The movement was quicker, more fluid ; we were more vertical and we could explode on both wings as Deschamps wants. Our midfield is set and isn't going nowhere and there are subs for every position. On the wings, Nasri's not fast enough to be above Rémy or Griezzman and Ribéry being on the bench is not a possibility.

So no, Nasri not being in the NT is not a nonsense because it's all the opposite : it makes PERFECT sense that he's not here.
Sure, we may lack him against tough defenses when tekks will be needed (though the Pogba, Ribéry, Valbuena or Benzema can provide) but overall it's the best choice for us.

I honestly believe Valbuena is a lot better than his stats say. He is a metronome in the middle. Keeps possession tidily, technically brilliant, good delivery, good dribbler. He is a late bloomer though so many teams probably didnt take a chance on him.

I wouldn't say brilliant technically because he's not that good but he's definitely very solid in this area. Plus, he has a good array of passing from short to long range with ease. A late bloomer definitely plus he can score nice goals :

You also can add that he has drastically reduced his diving tendencies for a few years now to the point he never does that in the NT.

For his size, he doesn't lose possession very easily. I'd say he is very similar to Santi without the goal scoring, Santi also being more creative on the ball. Been a fan for a while but I admittedly don't catch as many Ligue 1 games as I used to.

Edit: Through out his career for both club and country, Santi has always been a goal scorer. Valbuena can too but he's not really known as one of you catch my drift

Yaya's agent has spoken about him moving away from City in the last few seasons. I wonder if he put in a Messi clause to re-up every 2 seasons or if someone else gets paid more than him. The idea to speak about everything after the World Cup will only increase speculation and pressure on City.

Football off season must be the easiest time for journalists, you can dream up any potential transfer and put it in papers. They know the problem areas for teams and just start coming up with transfers.
