watching it now :ohlawd:

for me, I just weigh the pros and con of the situation and see what makes sense.
For privacy purposes, say I have a friend :mjpls: who found an apartment with his brehs but he doesn't wanna live in the shytty town his college is located in starting in June and would rather move in around September while chilling at home. If he chooses not to move in, he'll have to commute to school which is :longforman: what should my friend do.

Allegedly :mjpls:

I agree with attempting to not sweat the small things, and I'd add trying to experience as much as you can in life.

I've sorta been on that kick. You spend a lot of time on things, but then you sorta get to a point or an illuminating juncture in life when you realize how much you've missed out on already, so you just want to experience a lot of the great things that there are out there. With me it's movies and books, I've been watching a lot of movies and reading a lot of books. I've seen a lot of movies but once it gets down to it and you assess you really haven't seen all that much, so you want to see it all or read it all.

And that's just a basic ass personal example of things I'm trying to shore up that I feel I've missed out on (good example) but it obviously extends to other things. And I don't want to get all EAT. PRAY. LOVE. in here, those are just some thoughts I've had kicking around. I guess it's just nice sometimes to let go of all those feelings sometimes, I'm not saying that life isn't a treacherous slog of an activity that wears our eyeballs down to the nub and we have to just sack up and DEAL with shyt sometimes, but it's ok to let some things go.

Oh, and Purple Rain is fukking amazing

It's a funny movie because it shouldn't work. But it does, and really exceeds expectations :banderas:

Like, a scene that still sticks with me is when The Kid is about to go on stage to perform Purple Rain and Morris Day walks by and asks how the family is and then pauses in the hallway before he goes on. I dunno why but that hit me hard when I first saw it :wow:

And the general relationship between The Kid and Morris and performance and blah blah blah.

Plus it's gotta be the greatest soundtrack ever. I still remember that discussion in the Booth about Prince not having any classics :comeon:

What do you brehs do when you have a heavyweight decision to make and you just don't know what to do
final-flip-a-coin-tetyanka.gif

also - know now in your early 20s that you will make bad decisions, and most of it is because you're just uninformed, not because you're stupid, immature, or demonic

that is to say, whatever choice you make is the correct one :ohhh:

I would

My breh would rather chill at home until September so he won't have to watch the World Cup with obnoxious frat boys who only watch soccer once every 4 years. Plus it saves money on food and dem tings.

That anxiousness is real. I've been reading through Roger Ebert's website and his great movies series and was just looking at the vast amount of movies I haven't seen, it was staggering :wow:

I mean Ebert's life was movies so of course he's seen everything but still, there were some things in there that I was actually sorta embarrassed about :guilty:

hilarious. i have a list of stuff i wanna see/read/etc but i have not even begun to start cause i'd rather do "nothing"

case in point: buy ebert's "great movies" at least 5 years ago, and still not even trying to get through it

like your entertainment options are a weight and chore in itself, because it's something you should watch and thus becomes some kind of informal homework
