They needed players at the back (keeper and fb's) and technical players, which they got.

Only Vietto is the like only random signing and he is on loan.

Fosu-Mensah: PL experience and can play rb/cb.
Zambo: Technical midfielder with size
Joe Bryant: Lb and good delivery to supply the ammo for Mitrovic
Rico: Needed a keeper, more high profile then expected
Vietto: Needed another forward to cover for Mitrovic off the bench. Wouldnt of been my 1-5 choice, but he is a technical player who is a decent finisher

Easy travel by public transport.
A number of pubs/bars not far from the ground
Easy hotel access
No real hooligan element

Wouldnt you want to walk past million pound houses on your way to the football.
