so we moving the goal post when we originally were talking about LEAGUE football
and the invincibles had strong competition in a good liverpool, manchester united,chelsea,etc... and that is just from the top of my head.
let me say it again, in ENGLISH LEAGUE football, the invincibles are the BENCH MARK!!
if it so easy to go unbeaten, why has no one done it since. city were suppose to do it this season.
:jbhmm:

Not moving the goal posts, but you do realize every elite team plays in four competitions per season, plus they play 3 times a week during the Christmas period. To ignore this, especially when Arsenal didn't do much in those competitions is very short sighted. The Man U treble team is better than the Invincibles.

:mjlol: only arsenal fans rate their invincibles.

Barely the 3rd best premier league team ever. Man utd had 2 better teams than that. So did Jose's first Chelsea team. And probably this city team will prove to be far better by a distance. Teams don't really care about going the season unbeaten. Teams care more about winning titles but if you want to hang your hat on that. Then fair enough.:manny:

Pogba should leave UTD if Jose is not going to change his system(he won't)

He isn't a defensive Midfielder. At Juve he played on the left side with a midfield of Pirlo, Vidal, and Marchiso

Arsenal's unbeaten title-winning team of 2003-04 have been votes as the Best Team in the Premier League's 20 Seasons Awards.

Arsene Wenger's team, skippered by Patrick Vieira, became known as the 'Invincibles' after becoming the first team to win the Premier League title having not lost a game.

Invincible: Arsenal celebrate going the entire 2003-04 season unbeaten

THE INVINCIBLES
Position: 1st
Played: 38
Won: 26
Drew: 12
Lost: 0
For: 73
Against: 26
Goal Difference: +47
Points: 90

And their achievement of eight years ago has been recognised by a panel of leading football pundits, journalists and commentators

'I am very proud of this and very happy,' said Wenger as he received the award. 'I told the players at the time that they could achieve something special once we were champions - being invincible.

'And they did it. At the time they didn’t realise how much it would mean in the future, but I’m very proud of the achievement of course.

'My target is to get Arsenal back to that level.

Where are they now...
Jens Lehmann - aged 42, retired

Lauren - 35, retired

Kolo Toure - 31, Manchester City

Sol Campbell - 37, retired

Ashley Cole - 31, Chelsea

Fredrik Ljungberg - 35, free agent

Gilberto Silva - 35, Gremio

Patrick Vieira - 35, Man City football development executive

Robert Pires - 38, free agent

Dennis Bergkamp - 43, Ajax assistant manager

Thierry Henry - 34, New York Red Bulls

'I feel personally that we are not far away from being able to fight for the championship, and let’s hope we can show that next season.'

Wenger's side became the first team since Preston North End in 1889 to achieve the feat in the top flight, and they played 16 matches more.

The team were the last Arsenal side to win the Premier League and included the likes of Vieira, Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole, Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry.

They won the title by an 11-point margin from Chelsea after triumphing in 26 of their 38 matches.

Vieira told PremierLeague.com last month: 'Can anyone do it again? Never say never because in football anything can happen. It will be difficult to do it but I am sure a team will.

'I think it will take a special team to do it. Of course you need luck, but overall you need to believe as a team.

'When you achieve something like that as a team it is really special because people will talk about it until it gets beaten - and you never know how long it is going to take. It was a fantastic team performance.'
