And then to top it off, Krusty Gets Kancelled at 2 in the morning.

It never bothered me that the Simpsons fell off. Every TV show has an expiration date where they just get stale and the creative well runs dry. Even now the Simpsons can drop a B-B+ episode but it's not nearly as consistent as it used to be. They also don't have the writing staff now to do the sentimental moments like the MJ episode or The Way We Was.

the first season especially is hilarious. almost every moment of character development is actually just a dumb joke

It's a bizarre show. If you're familiar with David Lynch you'll sorta know what you're getting into.

But it ranges from a soap opera to comedy to thriller to horror. Plus just as a show from 1990 it remarkably hasn't aged too terribly
