Right or wrong, he believed he could turn it around, he was an elite sportsperson with a mentality to go with that. The board have finally stepped up and taken responsibility and he's trying to go out on the best possible terms.

I don't really get how anyone can have any hate for him here, he's a club legend, he did his best, it wasn't good enough. The only people who deserve hate here is the board.

Besides no one would expect any manager to quit in these circumstances, Ole is no different.:dead:
I've got love for Ole the player. I always liked him more than most as a player as I thought he was a uniquely gifted finisher. He also proved his overall playing style when he played right wing for a season or so. So even apart from the CL final, I always had an extra soft spot for him. Nothing would have satisfied me more than him winning a major title for us. However, as a manager, he showed some many blindspots that was borderline narcissistic in his refusal to change things. He should have improved the coaching staff. At this level you need to be more ruthless. If he's going to act like he was always thinking of the club first then I'll have to disagree. He definitely put himself first.

Not being good at certain things doesn't equate to doing things to purposely hurt the club. I believe he always thought he was doing what's best for the club, no matter how frustrating or bizarre it was for fans. But he was wrong, and wasn't good enough, it is what it is.

Actually it’s an attempt for him to control a shytty narrative. Leaving on his own terms, leave the club better off, blah blah, blah.
What narrative? He's been sacked, everyone knows that, there's no such thing as him trying to leave on his own terms.

He has without a doubt left the club in a better place overall than when he came, any one who denies that is delusional in their hate I'm afraid :hubie:

I agree. That's why I want someone with zero tolerance to come for these players to get them out of the club if they don't step it up.
So on that note(i agree to a large extent)...

Zidane? Hmmm maybe not.:patrice:
Rodgers? Did you see Leicester's defending the other day?:dead:
Ten Hag? fukk knows...maybe?:ehh:

Yeah we're fukked.:mjlol:

Definitely not Rodgers. Are you having a laugh?

Zizou is a no because he doesn't want it.

I like the idea of Ralf Rangnick in theory. No idea how that'll play out in reality. Ten Hag would be for next season.

Some talk of Laurent Blanc too. Not sure how I feel about that.

Ragnick is a weird one, could be a short term option before stepping up to a DOF type role when we get our main target, which I'm assuming/have been reading remains Poch.

Would work with a Ten Hag too.

But that all sounds a bit sensible for us/our board.

The best man for the job was Conte. He ticked all the boxes, and would’ve done God’s doing in continuing to expose the shambles of a board we have.

Pursuing Zidane is a waste of time. Doesn’t speak the language, he and his wife are opposed to the climate, and he’s waiting for the France job which will be open in just over a year.

Poch…. :mjlol:. Brendan Rodgers… :laff:

Next best up is Ten Haag. I’m dying for a stone cold tactician that can not only go toe to toe with Klopp, Pep, and Tuchel, but also has the judgement on players to recognize players like McTominay, Fred, Maguire, AWB, etc need to be excommunicated as soon as possible.

That’s the standard we’re up against. Only Ten Haag and Conte fills me up with the confidence to believe that we wouldn’t start games against title rivals already with a coaching handicap.

The problem with Conte is that he won't suffer fools and he can't win against the board so only one way that ends.
