It’s tough, he’s a former player and club legend. You can’t expect him to take a shyt in the ambassadors lounge on his way out. Klopp, however, would take a shyt.

Lampard is a far bigger Chelsea legend than Ole is a Man Utd legend. He would never in a million years do some pathetic shyt like this:

'What would you tell the players before Tuesday' this is some sadistic shyt. Man Utd are a joke.

I'm convinced you need to be a bit of a nasty character to be a manager. You have to have some edge at the very least.

Any proper manager tells the club to fack off if they requested a farewell interview (after being sacked, by all means do a farewell interview if you're retiring after winning the treble).
Knowing Ole he probably asked to do it.

I know it's cool to make fun of him etc etc but my guy loves his football club, I can't knock him trying to have some class about it all.:yeshrug:

He thought he did. If he truly did he would put his hands up and admit we should get better qualified people in for this job as I’m obviously making of mess of this. Imagine me ruining my kid’s career as his manager when I should get the best possible management for it when things are going wrong.

Right or wrong, he believed he could turn it around, he was an elite sportsperson with a mentality to go with that. The board have finally stepped up and taken responsibility and he's trying to go out on the best possible terms.

I don't really get how anyone can have any hate for him here, he's a club legend, he did his best, it wasn't good enough. The only people who deserve hate here is the board.

Besides no one would expect any manager to quit in these circumstances, Ole is no different.:dead:

See this is the thing, he's probably not Lampard level of legend at Chelsea simply because Chelsea don't have any history and will cherish a recent legend as one of the GOATS.

But i don't think non-United fans and teenagers quite understand how much of a legend he is to the fans. There's a connection there that goes beyond one goal in 99, look at the tail end of his career for example when he had injury troubles, the fans always supported him and hero worshipped him when he got back. It's a mix of actual success hero worship and cult hero worship all mixed together.

Also fukk your whole plastic organisation and its plastic, hollow legends while we're here.:patrice:

Actually it’s an attempt for him to control a shytty narrative. Leaving on his own terms, leave the club better off, blah blah, blah.

I've got love for Ole the player. I always liked him more than most as a player as I thought he was a uniquely gifted finisher. He also proved his overall playing style when he played right wing for a season or so. So even apart from the CL final, I always had an extra soft spot for him. Nothing would have satisfied me more than him winning a major title for us. However, as a manager, he showed some many blindspots that was borderline narcissistic in his refusal to change things. He should have improved the coaching staff. At this level you need to be more ruthless. If he's going to act like he was always thinking of the club first then I'll have to disagree. He definitely put himself first.
