He was signed to replace Suarez who had to be moved on. Suarez and Messi was fine for La Liga but both were too old and too many miles to press from the front in big important away CL games. Roma and Liverpool highlighted this. And then Bayern put the bodybag in a bodybag pissed on it set it on fire and threw it off the top of that Barcelona cathedral they've been renovating for over a 100 years.

They were counting on Griezmann to bring that Simeone pressing at the front but that Simeone pressing also took Griezmann legs so what they signed him for he could no longer do.

Barca mistake was not selling/getting rid of Suarez sooner. But because he was Messis mate they kept him.
