Nah he wasn't, but he was very good that season. He even semi overshadowed Beckham's CL debut, D Diddy scored 2 on his CL debut in a 4-2 defeat. D Diddy didn't come into his own at Chelsea till his 3rd season. The 33 goals, the Winners vs Liverpool and Barca, the FA Cup Final goal.

it was his chelsea days that he really became the force that we all remember him. His first 2 seasons with chelsea or so werent so hot, had he flopped nobody would have cared for his french league numbers except nikkas living in franceAnd about vardy all said is that he is very good and no need to diss him. Drogba has obviously faced tougher opposition than vardy through his career and as shined against the biggest teams in the world
