Mbappe has played with with better teammates tho. Messi Argentina teams always been 1 man show
Why do people keep saying this? At one point Messi had Aguero, Di Maria, Huguin and Tevez playing alongside him

Mbappe is playing with Giroud, Greismann and Debele.

People just need to accept that so far, Messi has not delivered for Argentina. He is one for 4 in final games. That alone tells the story. He is a phenomenal player, but he chokes.

Have to disagree. Attacks ain’t built with players like Aguero, Di Maria etc. what Argentina have lacked is quality ball playing CMs who can move the ball up the pitch. Which Mbappe and all the World Cup winning teams have had over the past 15 years or so (Pirlo, Kroos, Pogba, Xavi).

When Argentina had all these great forwards and Messi I always felt they should have said fukk it and played Messi deeper as invariably he has to drop deep over the past 15 years for Argentina because of a lack of service.

Messi should have done better in WCs but It’s ridiculous argument to compare Mbappe and France squad which is one of the deepest/ strongest international squads along with Spain in 2010 of the past 20 years with Argentina

Even if I agree with you about thr midfield, this is still far from a one man team scenario. Argentina have always had strong squads. Like all good teams, there are areas they could have been better. France could have done with a striker in 2018,;Giroud didn't score a single goal.

So apparently, the reports here are that Neymar will be back next game, he's already working with everyone in practice and...

Even if he can't play the whole game, Tite wants to start him. The media morons were all agreeing that was the best course of action. :snoop:

I must be getting crazy, the easiest play was to sub him in on the 2nd half so he can abuse Korea's defenses after they're a little more tired while also saving the option of not subbing him in at all if things somehow work out and Brazil builds a lead.

This has gotta be the most bytch-made generation Brazil's NT has ever produced. :scusthov:

On Sunday, Wenger told a news conference for the FIFA Technical Study Group that three options were under consideration. As well as the three-team option, another suggestion is that there would be 12 groups of four teams, with the best third-placed teams advancing with the top two. A third option is to split the World Cup into two separate halves of 24, each featuring six groups of four teams. The winner of each half would meet in the final.

He never chokes with good players and good COACHING around him..see Xavi, Iniesta and Pep

Those names look nice, but none of them were on the level of prime Pogba (who was a top 3 player last WC)

Then the coaching aspect…Messi had to deal with coke head ass Maradona as a head coach during a tournament breh, think about that :pachaha:

I love Drogba but Aguero probable has 2ce as many Premiership goals as he does.

Aguero was a BEAST, I agree

But you also need a playmaker like Pogba around you…he never had that

Imagine Messi on that French 18 team

Team is not missing Kanté at all tbh.

Midfield does lack creativity but Rabiot has been excellent at bursting through lines and offering solutions to Hernandez and Mbappé to compensate.

Tchouam with the defensive role, Griez with the passing and Rabiot with the runs, it's the same recipe as 2018 with Kanté-Pogba-Matuidi.

Also Kanté has been injured too much lately so it would have been risky even if he was fit.
Like you said in another post Griezmann is the creative spark in the team. He's basically a classic number 10 out there and as flabby as he's been last 3 years, he's still fantastic for France. It also helps that Rabiot and Tchou, while not creative, are complete players.

Germany could've set up the same way but it took Hansi Flick three matches to play Musiala as a number 10, he never put in a proper striker upfront, took too long to play someone with pace and physicality, Sane, on the wing.
