One thing I noticed unlike Football and Basketball, Futbol fans aren't very knowledgeable about futbol in game dynamics etc, know Alot about (leagues and stuff tho )and have alot of bad takes.
I think there are more Futbol watchers that never played in real leagues as youth (High School team, College team,Middle School team) than fans and watchers that never played organized Football, Basketball team.

"soccer" is more complicated without as many hard data points as US sports. it is large part art, large part science and this lends itself to many opposing opinions.

this is evident throughout the game and extends as far as commentators (michael owen, jermaine jenas, roy keane), managers (ole, southgate) and current players themselves ...

this problem is particularly pronounced in countries like england which combined with having an outdated self-image is broadly skeptical of management, management science and education in general.

this all means that those who possess a high level of insight and are able to manage others are rare AND command an almost ungodly ability to dominate the game. they routinely turn seemingly disjoint players into finely orchestrated winning machines - see SAF, pep, sacchi, don carlo ...

Most football fans aren't as big into stat-watching as you see with other sports - you don't get as many frustrated economists crunching figures like you get with baseball, I think. They watch the game and don't dissect it afterwards

And agreed. But football has billions of fans, so that's no surprise :manny:

The problem lot of the time is lot of people never played 11 a side football which completely different beast to what most have played. People will have played 5 a side or 7 a side etc or had casual games in a park. And even then not many who have done 11 a side done it for a long time . I played 11 a side at school but since then I’ve only played 5 a side. So even I’ll put my hands up and say even though I can be analytical and look at things tactically but most people ain’t playing 11 a side on the regular.

How many of these people on Twitter chatting shyt ever stepped on an 11 a side pitch

Haha. I played at Stamford bridge for a charity game last year (pitch was terrible). And you forget how fukkin big a football pitch is once on it. thought I was still fairly fit from my weekly runs and 5 a side games, but I was dead after 15 minutes playing in CM haha

Could imagine. Haven't played on a proper pitch in over a decade. Would be :deadrose:

Kaka wasnt doin what Mbappe is currently doing..nor was Owen

Bappe has proven himself already before hitting 25,

He has hit bigger heights than any English striker and they Hardly leave the English league to test themselves

Kane won't even test himself at a bigger English team

Bappe is 23 he has all the time in the world to join whatever league he wants , why rush ?

Kante came to the English league from the French league and took the piss

Let's not act like the English league is some top class division from top to bottom .. I mean look at the league now

United are shyt

Liverpool are struggling( finished 2nd in their champions league group )

Arsenal are at the top of the table( currently in the Europe league )

Newcastle are riding high....

Leicester City once won the league then struggled big time the following year

West ham who was on a madness last year look full time shyt this year
fukk all that.

the EPL is still hands down the most competitive and entertaining league. It wasnt always that way, but for the last decade if not more, it has been.

Kane wanted to go to Man City but he couldnt

Pre WC Arsenal would beat the best team in most leagues (sans Munich maybe, City and Madrid/Barca)

Crazy scenes. I know England would go nuts it England won the WC but I don’t imagine it will be that insane.

Too bad we will never see Haaland in a world cup. We’re lowkey stripped from seeing another great on the world stage :francis:
