you don't see tons of non-americans up in the basketball/baseball/NFL/hockey threads trying to explain your sport to you the experts.

I was about to start going into NBA threads and asking what the basketball equivalent of a step over is :lolbron:

Why aren't there corners and why don't they have a goalie guarding the net at all times

I'll just say this.

If you try to apply the good-guys/bad-guys filter to football, you'll never be able to appreciate the game itself for what it is. It's nearly impossible to separate politics from the sport - far too much money and social influence to ever successfully pull that off - but to truly grasp the pure joy of it there are several things you have to temporarily put aside. Politics is definitely one of those.

There are NO clean hands here.

people seem to forget, you can just enjoy a game without rooting for anyone. you don't need to pick a side all the time. just enjoy the football itself.

I'd like Messi to win a WC so would be happy if Argentina win but lot of the time I just enjoy the game. If it's Germany vs Spain in a final, i'm just going to root for a good game

Breh, I don’t see how any actual football fan can watch this as a neutral :pachaha:
There’s too many layers. You’d be a damn liar if you claim you aren’t supporting anyone
