yeah this is for each individual pen isolated and looked at in a vacuum. So let's say average probability is 70%, you would have to take (0,7)^4 to get the probability that your team scores all four pens that go before the 5th one, which is what really matters. The shootout doesnt look at the pens individually but cumulativewe can debate what “uncommon” entails but it’s not a matter of opinion that most people are scoring a penalty kick, it’s demonstrably true.
