I like both shows, but I think First Take is the better between the two.
The only thing that I don't like is how FT promotes movies by bringing on lead actors for promotional reasons to talk about sports that they obviously don't know anything about. They brought Jeremy Renner on there yesterday and the man claimed to be a life long 49ers fan and obviously didn't know dik about them or football. He brought Rick Ross and a bunch of others on there and they always come off completely clueless about sports.
But, The commentary on FT seems far more articulate and thought provoking. The counter arguments are pretty good, and the way that each of them conceptualize their POVs seem within reason even if I disagree with some of what they are saying.
I think Will Cain is a great addition, along with Dominique Foxworth (these two really deserve a show together).
I think SAS and Max are excellent though. I think they're pretty fair, honest and consistent. I don't know where people are getting this "c00n" description of SAS from. When something or someone that he thinks is wrong--he calls it out, he doesn't seem to care who it's coming from or what race they are.
Max is a bit too "intellectual" in the sense that he often introduces and makes broad comparisons between issues that have no relation to one another whatsoever. But he does it as well as anyone would be able to do it.
I get where the OP is coming from with SASs antics, they can get a little over the top sometimes, even when I find myself agreeing with him.
Now, Shannon and skip are good, but skip just seems so spineless and meek at times. He has these moments where he seems to cower from from countering Shannon's POV.
