I don't, when skip was at the other end because he would often speak for the conservative & privileged, Steven was forced to take the side of reality, Skip relished being heel and Steven had no choice but to be contrarian.
This has only been their first week and Steven A has taken stances skip would have been proud of with Max scurrying to make a point that's true to his whiteness but not going against the premise of the show. Like with the Jordan stuff, he basically agreed with Smith while adding (at the end) but he feels funny because he can't exactly criticize anything Jordan said, his greatest crime (to max) was that he comes off like a politician. Neither one of them prefixed their points by mentioning the story behind "republicans buy shoes too". Max is a culture jacking millennial so if he's not going to bring that conservative/elitist viewpoint that's going to box Steven A and remind him he's black then the show has lost a vital ingredient that made it riveting tv
I've only seen a few minutes of the show but knowing max from the radio show I don't think max comes off as a politician at all. He'll tell you exactly how he feels. Unless ESPN brass told him there's a line he can't cross or something but max has never been one to not take a side or voice his opinion
Also he's not a millennial dudes in his 40's lol
