actually he's right... they made the change to black it up a little more. got rid of the white people except skip.. brought in two black people.. most of their celeb guests are rappers and black entertainers.. you might get a kevin james or something every once in a while.. got wale and stalley to do the intro.. the fade out and in to commercials is all hip hop now

i'm not saying they aiming for us.. but......... they aiming for us

and who the hell else is home watching espn everyday at 10am. not saying black folks.. but it damn sure ain't nobody with a job.. maybe they were going for the young, hip crowd.. but that still sounds black to me
Yep this is true

I was rockin with dude until he had to throw the "unemployed & uneducated" bullchit in there.

first take is geared towards the casual sports fan. just like a lot of their other shows , such as PTI where you can tell that the hosts themselves are casual to a lot of topics.

the difference between first take & PTI is that first take has a way of catering to black folks and the urban/upbeat/hip crowd in general, like somebody just said. but that doesn't equate to being "unemployed & uneducated". lol. why isn't PTI called out for catering to the ignorant? because they have an old white man & a c00n hosting? I hate this board sometimes.

First take comes on several times in a day and guess what?!?!
the young crowd has tivo to watch after work, lol. :comeon:

hell they had tv-guide vcr's to record ya shows in the 90's. You don't gotta watch tv live to enjoy it, haha!

 at watching ESPN for opinions. Only time First Take was respectable was when the "2 Live Stews" were on there. Too many celebrities with just basic opinions Nelly,Ashanti,Holly Robinson Peete.Whats the ratings of that show? Most people are at work at that time.Remember most people on the Coli who arent working at Mickey D's at that time are millionaire ballers :comeon: so they have all the time in the world to watch 2 hours of that show.

There are actually these cool devices known as DVR's that allow us employed ******s to watch the show when were not at home. Technology is amazing huh!

C*c alert :patrice:

First I was being sarcastic, because if you read the thread there have been numerous posters intimating that First take is designed for dumb, unemployed black people. And as someone that watches the show, I was simply entertaining those ridiculous assertions.

Second, how many white people call themselves ******s?

Third, stop insulting me with the cac label. Its highly offensive. I'd rather you call me a nikka/******/negro. :pachaha:

not only DVR's

but telecommute is pretty big in 2013. It cost business and government money to have you sit in a cubicle. people with 9-5 do work from home sometimes or all-the-time except meetings.

sportsnation is not informative. its not meant to be.

and yes SAS is the best NBA analyst on ESPN but i can understand how he's on first take: $$$$. you can telll dude is uncomfortable with some of the direction the show takes.

as far as baiting tactics, what do you think is the target demographic for the show are?? More and more producers are starting to do what Foxnews has long discovered : focus on 2-3 specific demos and maintain a steady stream of revenue as a result. Trying to create great content brings uncertainty and more risk so they are starting to move away from that.

First take is a morning show, nobody that's working or educated will watch it religiously.

again with this unemployed/uneducated bullchit. THATS MY GRIPE. i actually agreed with you multiple times concerning the rest of this post. i don't understand why you insist on arguing with me about stuff that i already agreed with. youre coming off as uneducated here.

everybody's work hours aren't 9 to 5. you do know that right? now youre coming off as someone who is unemployed as well.

secondly, everybody doesn't watch the show at home. NEWSFLASH: a lot of people watch the show WHILE AT WORK. and everybody that actually does watch it at home, aren't necessarily watching it live.

I'm working and educated and i just DVR it or listen to the Podcast after the show airs mostly because of SAS. Not sure why you are focused on this uneducated point. Your point about focusing on demos is correct, not sure why you need to generalize the people who watch it though. I'm sure part of that 18-34 Demo are college kids who might not have class at 10AM or 12PM when in re-airs. Not all those people that show up at their live shows at the Hard Rock or in NYC are uneducated, they were mostly college kids it seemed to me. I think people from all spectrums watch it like Regis who says he watches it everyday or Holly Robinson Peete who treets about it...

yea, dude just doesn't get it.

and yea, i used to watch the show everyday while getting ready for school........as in college. but according to dude, im uneducated.

dig it. one of the main demos for this show is in fact the college crowd. but according to ghost, its for the uneducated.

cause tivo doesn't exisit :ohlawd:

yall some funny posters. Barber shops turn on firsttake as well. Hell, if you got a government job in a cubicle i'm sure you can stream first row sports etc.

real talk.

i still record stuff on my vcr.:flabbynsick:

I liked the show better when SAS was only a weekly guest. I think they should change it up every now and then. It's obvious that the celeb appearances are to distract from the slow summer sport cycle (they really don't want to get into baseball).
