Not everyone working at ESPN found the testy remarks shared between First Takes Skip Bayless and Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman amusing. One analysis in particular who spoke out against the segment was Bill Simmons.
In three simple but direct tweets, Simmons expresses his distaste for the show while urging viewers not to watch First Take.

It's amazing to me that people get so worked up about First Take. Who cares? Just don't watch it. There are like 800 TV channels.

I am not defending this segment - Richard Sherman vs. Skip Bayless on ESPN 1st Take - YouTube - I thought it was awful and embarrassing to everyone involved. Seriously.
This was sad on both parts. Skip was being Skip so I dont blame him but if youre going to go on First Take you have to expect this in away. Terrell Suggs doesnt agree with Skip. It could be argued he actually hates him, but he knows how to display his dislike while still being professional, which ultimately makes Skip look like the fool. However once you engage and stoop down to his level, as Simmons stated, no one wins it just becomes sad. You fell into the trap.

But what bothers me about the reaction to that segment is people saying Richard Sherman "won." Nobody won. Everyone lost. Including ESPN.
I guess this is the time we all Embrace the Debate, and see what sort of action ESPN takes against Simmons. It wasnt like he called anyone a cornball so I doubt ESPN will make off with his head. If they dont respond, maybe someone in the higher offices agree with him regarding First Take. You simply never know since it has been reported many ESPN employes arent tickled with pink regarding the show to begin with.

who the hell is bill simmons?
Are you a foreigner??
ESPN has suspended Simmons from Twitter for a few days after he called the Skip Bayless-Richard Sherman First Take meltdown last week awful and embarrassing. An ESPN source told me that the tweets violated ESPN's social media guidelines; Simmons was told to lie low for a few days. He hasn't tweeted since Tuesday, and he'll apparently be allowed to return to Twitter tomorrow, making it a three-day hiatus. An ESPN spokesman declined comment, and Simmons didn't respond to an email.
ryan clark?i was shocked too.. then you really think about it.......
name the company that you work for.. that would let you publicly diss their "products" or other employees and not do anything about it
first take is the top watched sports show... period... you don't come out even remotely dissing them if you work for the same damn company.. who you think they gonna side with??
and i do believe skip and to a lesser extent, steven a., can get any person or segment pulled... i remember when stephan a went hard at dude from the steelers.. they never released that podcast... then on this richard sherman podcast they hyped it the whole time... then never posted it... wonder why?
