A number of conservatives took some solace in the fact that the vote count for Obama was down dramatically from '08:

"He won but he lost over 10 million votes from last time :jawalrus:"

"Even Bush got more votes than him in '04!! :pachaha:"

lol well it appears all that was a bit premature:

More than 3 million ballots still to be counted in California - latimes.com

Turnout down from 2008? Too soon to tell - NBC Politics

There's still millions of votes to be counted, some say as much as over 8 million...with most of them in Obama friendly areas. When its all said and done he will probably get over 65 million popular votes...the second most in history to his own record in '08.

Barry stay killing 'em softly. :whew:

the truth is its really not this hard. Republicans just have to stop tolerating racist CACs & open up the party to Latinos and Blacks.

Blacks & Latinos in general are social conservatives...but Republican CACS hate brown/black people so much that they would rather lose than try to understand our plight.

These Republicans want blacks & browns to serve them, not be equal to them. So if you don't come into the party knowing this...they don't want you in the party.

Sucks for them :manny:

Agreed. A lot of white people are having are having a hard time figuring out what their place in the world is nowadays. There was a time when the white man's place in the world was at the front of the line. Now, more and more, what decides where you place in line is comes from what kind of person you are and how hard you are willing to work. White people traditionally believed they automatically because of their skin color were the "right" kind of people who worked the hardest. Those white people who are open to looking at the heart of a person, not their skin color are not threatened by this. Those who aren't, are terrified.

that is the modern republican party, they've been running on veiled hatred and fear of brown and black people for awhile now, it's just raised it's ugly head in all its glory for the world to see and to change that the party would have to be gutted and a major portion broken off.

the ironic part is many of these states probably couldn't survive on their own. like maybe you don't approve of the job FEMA did in Katrina, but just wait until your stranded on your roof waiting for billy-bob and his buddies to save you

They would get re-annexed with the quickness, or worse... those states bordering Mexico = :sadcam:
