accurate.
That’s always been one of the fly areas in DC and what people were complaining about with gentrification.
Yes you had the Farms but there’s a ton of little communities filled with solidly middle class Black people with houses.
I lived in a Brownstone in Brooklyn in DC I had a house with a yard.
The achille’s heel ( DC Public Schools educated)I get in about 5 miles a day of walking/jogging and do my best to check out spots near me.

Our kids get zero screen time on school days (Sunday evening to Friday afternoon) and have 30 minutes reading only time at night. We also read to the younger ones.Even most middle class Black kids are allowed to watch fukkery on TV and with the internet it’s way worse.
This. Ironically because my father was an international businessman all the other kids in the neighborhood my age or older had a father there every night I was the outlier in that situation. Our kids get zero screen time on school days (Sunday evening to Friday afternoon) and have 30 minutes reading only time at night. Too many Black parents want the school to educate kids rather than take it in our own hands and go above and beyond (extra tutoring, other enrichment).
But to be fair, Black areas are often more mixed socioeconomically too. White communities are often more homogenous economically.
Also, I wouldn't boost Vivek. He is just repeating the culture line (a la Sowell) that all Black problems derive from culture and WS, discrimination, structural barriers etc. are a red herring for our problems whichbis dishonest. These things all feedback on each other.
A lot of Black middle class parents aren't told of all the resources. I have learned of a lot of stuff from non-Black parents myself.
