McKINNEY, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) -- A 25-year-old Plano man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of Steven Gambles last summer.

In a release sent out Wednesday, Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said on July 7, 2021, Gambles was meeting a friend for dinner at the Shops at Legacy when 25-year-old Jordan Jacobs passed him outside.

Willis said Jacobs told his girlfriend that Gambles had "been looking at her and so he was going to go rob him as a consequence." He then reportedly went back to his apartment and changed into a long sleeve security jacket, dark pants, and a mask.

Jacobs spent the next two hours waiting for Gambles to return to his car so he could rob him, the release stated.

While he was waiting, surveillance footage showed Jacobs entering Gambles' car and stealing a firearm from his console. When Gambles returned to his car, Jacobs confronted him, pointed the firearm at his head and then shot him in the temple after he "wouldn't cooperate," the release said.

Through surveillance footage, Plano Police Department Detective Aaron Benzick was able to track down Jacobs to his nearby apartment and identify him as the shooter.

Officials said Jacobs was not associated with the Shops at Legacy security nor was he employed as a security guard with any company.

:heh: KVIL & KXXT don't cut it for you?

Earlier this year I looked up the Youtube views for the music videos of the top charting songs on the weekly Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. And I was shocked to see how few views those music video had. As much as nikkas talk about how dead R&B is, I'd say mainstream Rock is even more dead than R&B. I've watched weekly Billboard Hot 100 countdown videos on YouTube for like the last 6 years & I rarely if ever see mainstream rock songs in the top 40 of the Hot 100.

Quadruple killing victim shot 2 people in May at West 7th club, Fort Worth police alleged

One of four people who were shot to death at the same time last week inside a sport utility vehicle in the Morningside section of Fort Worth fired into a crowd at a nightclub in the city in May, shooting two bystanders, authorities have alleged.

Amari’yon Cravin, 17, died on Friday at a hospital about a half hour after he was shot in his torso, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Ricky Craddock, 19, and Jaizson Nash, 17, also were slain.

The name and age of the fourth victim has not been released.

Cravin was indicted on nine counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of deadly conduct in the May shooting. He was held after his arrest at a Tarrant County jail on a total bond of $145,000. Court records do not make clear when was Cravin released. A warrant on a matter connected to the bond was issued for Cravin’s arrest on the day before he was shot to death. Cravin opened fire outside Varsity Tavern, at 1005 Norwood St., about 1:30 a.m. on May 8, police said. After he fired shots into a crowd, Cravin either ran or walked away.

Two people were shot and survived.

A third person was also injured in a way police did not describe. The victims were a man and two women in their 20s, police said.

A Fort Worth police spokesperson has said the Norwood Street shooting occurred during an argument between two people on a sidewalk and the victims who were shot were bystanders.

(Police released the video below when they were trying to identify the Varsity Tavern shooting suspect.)

Fort Worth TX police released video hoping the public can help identify and find a man suspected of shooting into a crowd, injuring two people outside Varsity Tavern nightclub in the West 7th Street area on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

Homicide detectives believe that a robbery of drugs motivated the quadruple homicide on Friday in which Cravin and the three others were shot about 7 p.m. in the 1200 block of Jessamine Street. A neighbor’s surveillance camera video recording reviewed by the Star-Telegram shows a gray Dodge Challenger waiting at the scene for about 15 minutes before a second vehicle, an SUV, pulls behind it. In the video, a passenger gets out of the Challenger and enters the SUV. Shortly after, gunfire erupts inside the SUV. The driver of the Challenger gets out and looks at the SUV behind him before getting back in his vehicle and driving down the street, the video shows. The driver turns around and pulls next to the SUV. He stops next to it, then drives away before returning once more and leaving. Police were searching for the Challenger’s driver. They have not announced an arrest in the killings. Craddock, Nash and the victim whose name has not been released died at the scene. Police are reviewing home surveillance videos as part of the investigation. They recovered multiple guns that had been fired at the scene, a police spokesperson said. There have been 88 homicides in Fort Worth this year. At this time last year, there had been 89 criminal killings in the city, according to the police department. A recent ranking has determined that the Dallas-Fort Worth area is the least affordable region in the state of Texas.

The study, first published here, looked at the federal Cost of Living Index, which is developed and published by the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER).

Dallas-Fort Worth was considered to be the most expensive area in the state, based on a range of factors including:

  • Housing
  • Groceries
  • Utilities
  • Transportation
  • Health Care
  • Miscellaneous
Based upon those factors, DFW was given an official Cost of Living Index score of 99.35.

For perspective, the national average Cost of Living Index is 100, which means that DFW is slightly less expensive than the national average.

PLANO (1080 KRLD)- Plano police make two arrests in connection to a recent assault at a Hooter's restaurant.

Earlier this month Plano Police said 4 teenage boys were trying to sell chocolate bars to customers inside the restaurant when employees asked them to leave. Police say that's when they got upset and started to cause a disturbance.

Once they were outside police say they started hitting the glass windows and assaulting the manager. Several people inside the restaurant were hurt by flying shards.

Police have now arrested 19-year-old Jeremiah Powell of Fort Worth for Assault Bodily Injury and Riot Participation and is being held on a $60,000 bond.

Police also arrested 20-year-old Tony Marshall, also from Fort Worth for Assault Bodily Injury, two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Robbery and is being held on a $160,000 bond. Police say more charges could be coming.

They have also issued a warrant for 19-year-old Jay Powell.

I moved to Texas in March of last year and closed on my house in Aubrey July 15th. One of my boys in WV a big Cowboys fan and came to Dallas when they played the Commanders and he loved the stadium. They stayed in Deep Ellum and had a lot of fun. Dallas is definitely all the way live on the weekends & the north Dallas suburbs are great as well.

That joint right around the corner from me. I avoid it at all cost of game days. Like you said, traffic is the worst. Saturday’s is where it’s at, especially if one of the in state schools has a big game plus they aren’t charging damn near a yard to reserve a booth
