I didn't take it down, not sure who did.
Fred.
That’s awesome!!!
sometimes i really think he and ozu were the best directors to ever liveMelvin Van Peebles boxset coming, that's gonna be good.
I bought a lot of Criterion stuff during both B&N sales last year, still getting surprised by greatness. The Agnes Varda boxset has some amazing stuff. Some of those movies got such great restorations they look better than a lot of modern stuff (Techincolor was a great thing). Also, all the Mizoguchi stuff Criterion's put out is wonderful, especially The Story of Late Chrysanthemum.
First sale and I spent about 6 bills.
A, you took offense over my words in the other thread. I was just defending my ground. Our convo was peaceful until you took it beyond. I ain’t trying to go on a war of words when I was upfront about everything. There was no agenda in the first place.
Bumping this 'cause this thread should always be on the first page. I went light on the Barnes & Noble sale in July, only picked up Flowers of Shanghai (they are FINALLY putting out Hou Hsiao-Hsien films) and Mirror.
The extras for Mirror are great. If you like Tarkovsky, you need this release.
edit: And goddamn right I know who I quoted. See, we have common ground.
