How was Corey's Houston show? I am thinking about flying to see him in ATL

Marcus was trying to keep neutral, but I gotta say that Marcus did side with Ryan about other stuff, he spoke up for Ryan and told Precyse silly ass that he's not a comedian and asked him if he could do an hour.

I can't judge Jess because I haven't seen her live. I won't comment on her show/act.

Yea that Precyse dude brings nothing to the table/show

Funniest set I EVER SEEN! He is the ABSOLUTE GOAT in my opinion. :wow:

He has passed Patrice, Bernie, Pryor in my book. Only Chappelle is on his level, but Corey is hood. I can tell that his divorce has really hurt him, but it's making him funny AF. This was my 3rd time seeing him, all of them were great, but this one is amazing. I wouldve seen him all 4 days back to back if I could.

I was thinking and wanted to tell him after the show. If he could make skits out of some of his jokes, it would be Chappelle Show, level funny. Corey comedic greats has never really transferred onto the big screen ever. Corey needs those CaCs to help him setup some skits.

Corey never wants to hear a different perspective
That’s the problem with a lot of old nikkas
Yeah you been in the mud getting it but the world changes and evolves around you
Being able to adapt to culture swings is how people get on in this world
Corey was trying to son Ryan with that internet comedian shyt and other jabs if you listen closely(not saying that in a dissing manner my g)
Lunell tried that with Karlous on 85 South last Friday
These old nikkas are so scared to pass the torch to young nikkas and it’s sad
We see that in politics, music and ever other facet of life when it comes to the fractured black community
Instead of taking in what Ryan said, digesting and calmly having discourse
Corey got just like he gets with everybody else
Homotional then he started instigating and trying to power up Crunk Juice and Marcus
He used the same tactic when Aries was on with Zo
He did that shyt one night with Kraig and Nate
And he damn sure did it with Zo and Freeze
But it’s mighty funny when comedians he respects and know he can’t pull that rank shyt with showed up
nikka tucked tail just like he did with Bill Bellamy
Corey is an amazing comedian
Anybody who enjoys comedy knows that
But he is the biggest cappin, homotional, hypocritical ass nikka I’ve ever seen
He sucks the life force out of a nikka to the point you don’t want to argue
He also doesn’t understand at this grown ass age
How to play the game
Nobody is saying soft shoe or kiss ass
But you have to play the game by certain rules until you get your feet in the door
It’s funny how he says Hollywood picks black celebrities
But if you dare say shyt about Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon
It’s a bunch of pleas copped and “BUTS:damn:
Corey is the old bitter nikka in the office, store, club
Mad at other nikkas because they can’t come to grips with reality that it’s their fault for not being further ahead in life
Corey always talks about opportunities taken away from him
But I guarantee he has had alot of opportunities presented to him
But fukked them up in the name of being A REAL nikka

Corey do be bullshytting too, as you stated, the time he spoke loud about not writing jokes for anybody and then Marcus blasted him for writing for Tiffany, then he had to back-track on what he said. shyt like that. Wishy washy.

Kevin Hart does sideways stuff, back peddles and he doesn't call him out for the soft shoe'n shyt Kevin does, he looks the other way or dance around the issue when the chatroom brings it to his attention. He coddle them folks he's tight with even though they do fukked up shyt. The Nick Cannon shyt was another act Corey let slide, but he's quick to call out other folks for folding or c00nin etc.

I saw Lunell on 85 state her bitterness or display why she was upset and decided to give props to the younger generation of comics. She admitted that she was lazy and in so many words did not want to adapt to the times.

To me, I haven't laughed at one Tiffany Haddish joke or read/heard 10 people state that Tiffany's funny, the way he went in on the Jess chick and B.Somone chick about not being funny is the same way he should have went in on Tiffany non funny ass.

:why:

OK I agree we are effectively a minority, now what?

And now Corey and crew are dumbasses for trying to make an argument with nothing to back up their claims. Just because they see Black people everywhere they go doesn't mean we are not a minority in this country.

2007-2009:
Corey Holcomb appears on the funniest black radio show of all time, Speedy's Comedy Corner with Lewis Dixx, Tanjareen, TDP, Clayton Thomas, Claudia Jordan, Jonnhy Mack and many show regulars. Outshining everyone and establishing a massive demand from fans for him to be given his own show.

2010: Corey is given a one hour slot, calls his his show "The 5150" at Conga Room in downtown LA, accross from the Staples Center.
He has Zo Williams pop up, Bobby Glanton Smith in the crowd, after searching for a cohost, settles for some lame Mexican single mom in her late 30s called Darlene.

At this point the show was great but was way too short, especially with the ads.
So they gave him an extra hour.
So now he was doing the 2 hour format, 1st hour had a social topic, and the 2nd hour had his more controversial topics.

This format was great and had callers like the legendary Low Lyfe and many country folks who were truck drivers.
He also had a lot of great guests sit in on the show (Zo, Bobby, Claudia, TDP etc) who he had great comedic chemistry with.

Around and 2011/12 the writting was on the wall at Foxxhole, so Corey started doing the 5150 Bootleg show on RMC at the same time he was still on Foxxhole, the RMC was the peak of all fukkery and the funniest the show has ever been.

Darlene disappeared once the Foxxhole cheque disappeared (Definition of down :comeon:) but her absence was the best thing that ever happened to the show and established the star trio of Corey, Bobby and Zo... With live callers and Poetess steering the ship well as producer.

Then he fell out with Poetess, left RMC and was doing shows in Tommy Sotomayor's kitchen :picard::scust:
This was beginning of the janky production, terrible mics, shytty camera, no format, no callers etc...
The show eventually made it to the storage unit, where the stagnation began, however Corey was still funny enough to make the 2 hours hysterical and entertaining, and had great chemistry with Bobby and Zo still (Darlene had returned by now).

..... Then they added Freeze Luv and his impersonations and new energy gave the show a new life.

Someone else can take it forward from here and bring up the fukkery with the various shytty producers of the show like Hotmouth Chris, Genevive etc and the various falling out with many of the cohosts etc.

It's been a 12 year meltdown brehs :wow::francis:

*I'll edit typos later
Say bruh you got the episodes of 5150 from 2011, I had all them downloaded on a old hardrive that I can't find and they not on youtube:patrice:

These new nikkas aren't half as funny as the old generation :yeshrug:
And your parents generation feels the same way about Corey and some others of my generation
I for damn sure don’t think a lot of comedians I grew up watching
Were ever that funny to begin with
Lunell is a prime example
bytch ain’t funny for shyt
And let it be known a lot of them nikkas who pull rank because they were on Comic View, Showtime at the Apollo or Def Comedy Jam or any of the “chitlin” circuit years
Ain’t that funny either
That’s the great thing about comedy
It’s subjective but this is what I find odd
Black people always talk about unity and needing to advance but always shyt on the young generation or up and coming
nikkas become gatekeepers and offer no game
Or the slightest of a helping hand
Now with a forked tongue
Many young people don’t always take advice from elders
This is fact
But the reason for that is the way elders approach young folks
Talk to them any ol kind of way and expect respect
It don’t work like that
On the flipside and I hate doing this
White comics they put people on
They may talk cash shyt about them behind closed doors but they let the younger white folks eat
Hype them none funny muthafukkas to the moon
Amy Schumer was allowed to rock for years
Getting bags left and right
It wasn’t the joke thievery that got here out the paint
It was her being a bytch to the public, rubbing established actors the wrong way and changing the culture at Netflix with the rating system
Having your elders shyt on you in public is detrimental to these young acts
If somebody continuously says you ain’t shyt
You not funny
You don’t deserve them bags you getting
To a person with no confidence
That kills them and they say fukk it
When maybe all they needed was guidance, time and structure
A simple pull to the side and advice on crowd control and other mechanics to the game
I’ll be a c00n to a faceless stranger
Ain’t fukk up about nobody on here :russ:
But you literally perpetuating why young people are frustrated with older people:yeshrug:

watching this most recent show like:dwillhuh:these dudes really trying to argue against what ryan is saying when it's common sense. too much emotional bs with these mufukkas. even IF it's controlled by hollywood or whatever, that is just further proving ryan's point. black people cannot put their own on at the level that these white fakkits can because there are so many more white fakkits that will ride for their own and black people simply don't have the numbers to go 1 for 1. it's like why a regular person couldn't keep playing poker with jeff bezos, you don't have enough to match what he can out out there. incredible how stupid these dudes seem on this episode.

Looking at Corey, it obvious Corey wants to be a star, a legend the way all the great Comedians are talked about.

As much as he pretends to love being this underground king, unsung hero, your favorite comedians favorite Comedian. He wants to be where Hart, Eddie, Chappelle are at. His wants that acknowledgement off being one off greats and not just on an underground level.

But the path he's chosen don't come with the adulation and whatnots. And it's something that bothers him. Not everyone with his level off talent can handle being the "Underground" and "Unsung" guy. At this point, he either got be real with himself and chase his real dream. Or stay in the underground and stop complaining. This is path you chose.
