2007-2009:
Corey Holcomb appears on the funniest black radio show of all time, Speedy's Comedy Corner with Lewis Dixx, Tanjareen, TDP, Clayton Thomas, Claudia Jordan, Jonnhy Mack and many show regulars. Outshining everyone and establishing a massive demand from fans for him to be given his own show.
I still listen to these episodes at work, GOAT show, nothing funnier.

I think Corey felt a bit slighted by Ryan aura, and maybe that's how Ryan is, laid back, kool, but I think Corey took it as if Ryan was acting as if he knows more than Corey. Ryan's been on the road, getting his followers up and doing bits/shows/tours, Corey may have felt Ryan was trying to somewhat little boy him in a sense because he's having some shine.

Corey, not really saying it, but saying it to Ryan, is speaking from a place where's he's seen the agents, movie/show executives and pretty much the game on how this world works, Corey is stuck on that format on how he had to move in this world, he saw the pitfalls, he had to see and experience it, which Ryan hasn't really yet to see yet, (I don't know if he has or hasn't), but we all know Corey has seen his fair share.

Corey has the credits and appearances and he feels that he can speak on the path and how things works in this industry, (which I am not knocking him on) Ryan may feel that what Corey is saying has some merit in it but he also knows that Corey can also sabotage his own relationships with folks, because he doesn't know how to move in this "new" format, (which is the same format but different players per say) Ryan can speak with confidence about what's happening nowadays. Ryan's has been in rooms/meetings with executives, agents and so and so's and can articulate the "numbers" on how things are presented to him today, which is maybe a slight difference from when Corey was at Ryan's age, just starting out. Same format but just presented on a different plate/tray.

Both to me are right, when speaking on the comedy acts and how to push your career forward and the unbalance in the game. I think Corey's more passionate because it's more of Corey's out there, meaning more comic that are talented and they had to have talent to get their shot vs the hacks, that are out now, that don't necessary have to have as much talent, just a following and a cute face or be an ass-kisser (which Corey alludes too)

I know we ride Corey hard in this thread, but on this one, I'm not mad at Corey for challenging Ryan's point of view on the game. Corey is probably making more money now, in the last 10-15 years than he did on the front end of his career, and this is without him having to kiss any ass. People seeing his talent.

Corey can pack a show quicker than the comics that are out in the game now. Ryan, (to me) has to understand how to play this game and still keep his core fans.

Ryan kept his cool, which I salute, didn't take anything personal and he spoke with confidence, some times, it's just good to listen and keep your ideas and things to yourself...

I believe Ryan should come back on the show, it really wasn't a bad bad exchange.

The Preycise dude was too much, other than that, I think both of them dudes spoke their peace, I, myself, just happen to side with Corey on this one.

Salute to Ryan, I want to see him in concert

I have much love for Corey, just traveled to Houston last Thursday to see him, but he's very ignorant and bitter. He was so wrong or off last night. First, he was totally rude and disrespect to Ryan. He compared Ryan was of explaining to one of his hoes. Ryan is wise and has enough intelligence to understand and manuever around ignorant hood dudes. Also he wanted Ryan to sabotage his friends for him, like Corey does to himself. Ryan didn't go for it.

I totally lost a lot of respect for Marcus, Ryan had to pry a simple answer that Jess show wasn't total shyt. Marcus is so use to being Corey's yes man, he couldn't keep it real. And Ryan is his boy.

Precyse is just horrible all around. Corey loves having dumb yes man flunky around. Precyse is perfect.

Y’all gotta define minority

Like are you using it as “other” or less numbers than everyone else or just cacs?

There’s approx 18,000,000 Asians, are we still the minority?

I don't see what 18 million Asians has to do with Black people?

Yes we are a minority, as in less numbers in relation to white Americans, who are the clear Majority in this country at this time being roughly 60% of the U.S. population. Yes the Black population is greater than the Asian population, but we are less than the Hispanic or Latino population.

Another thing, Corey talks all that fight, bout it bout it, but he only gets aggressive with smaller guys and women. He's starting to look real funny with that. He's never gotten aggressive or out of line like that with Freeze, Nate or Craig.

He claims to be an alpha but anytime another man disagrees with him he turns into a female hoodrat

Ryan was spitting straight FACTS. Comedy just like music, we know all the popular Black artist. But there are White groups and artist making millions that we've never heard of, bcuz of the numbers.

Problem is, Corey doesn't know how to have an respectable debate with someone he feels he can intimidate or beat up. He's never tired that shyt on Craig, Nate or Freeze. And he was second guessing fighting Zo.

I'm a big Corey fan, but like most great comedians, he has a ton of demons and personality flaws. Ryan has praised Corey and has showed him too much love for Corey to disrespect and get aggressive with him like that.

Corey never wants to hear a different perspective
That’s the problem with a lot of old nikkas
Yeah you been in the mud getting it but the world changes and evolves around you
Being able to adapt to culture swings is how people get on in this world
Corey was trying to son Ryan with that internet comedian shyt and other jabs if you listen closely(not saying that in a dissing manner my g)
Lunell tried that with Karlous on 85 South last Friday
These old nikkas are so scared to pass the torch to young nikkas and it’s sad
We see that in politics, music and ever other facet of life when it comes to the fractured black community
Instead of taking in what Ryan said, digesting and calmly having discourse
Corey got just like he gets with everybody else
Homotional then he started instigating and trying to power up Crunk Juice and Marcus
He used the same tactic when Aries was on with Zo
He did that shyt one night with Kraig and Nate
And he damn sure did it with Zo and Freeze
But it’s mighty funny when comedians he respects and know he can’t pull that rank shyt with showed up
nikka tucked tail just like he did with Bill Bellamy
Corey is an amazing comedian
Anybody who enjoys comedy knows that
But he is the biggest cappin, homotional, hypocritical ass nikka I’ve ever seen
He sucks the life force out of a nikka to the point you don’t want to argue
He also doesn’t understand at this grown ass age
How to play the game
Nobody is saying soft shoe or kiss ass
But you have to play the game by certain rules until you get your feet in the door
It’s funny how he says Hollywood picks black celebrities
But if you dare say shyt about Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon
It’s a bunch of pleas copped and “BUTS:damn:
Corey is the old bitter nikka in the office, store, club
Mad at other nikkas because they can’t come to grips with reality that it’s their fault for not being further ahead in life
Corey always talks about opportunities taken away from him
But I guarantee he has had alot of opportunities presented to him
But fukked them up in the name of being A REAL nikka

How was Corey's Houston show? I am thinking about flying to see him in ATL

Marcus was trying to keep neutral, but I gotta say that Marcus did side with Ryan about other stuff, he spoke up for Ryan and told Precyse silly ass that he's not a comedian and asked him if he could do an hour.

I can't judge Jess because I haven't seen her live. I won't comment on her show/act.

Yea that Precyse dude brings nothing to the table/show

Probably is, Corey thinks he's a rebel and is not in the system, but he is. We all are, he just like other dumbers are just one foot in the system, one foot out but are sabotage themselves to hold on to the REBEL motto. Corey got mad at Ryan bcuz he's not willing to sabotage himself and rub anyone that he isn't friend with the wrong way. Dumb AF.

A Personal life lesson: I moved to DC making 40k a year. I would always speak and present positive vibes to everyone in my bldg. All in the one bldg, I went jumped job to making 40k, 50k, 64k, 99k, 110k all in about 6 years. Only one interview.

Every Black person in this country has to to a delicate 2 step dance in this system to be successful. Anyway Corey doesn't want to fully do the dance, but he has a foot on the floor.
