There's a new material? Cause last might was led by Luke Cage and doom wasn't near that book.

Yeah it was Mighty Avengers.. right after the female Ultron arc by Frank Cho. This was like damn.. nearing a decade ago :skip:

Pull list for next week:

Detective Comics #936
Flash #2
Wonder Woman #2 (maybe)
Wacky Raceland #2 (maybe)
Nightwing Rebirth #1
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps Rebirth #1
Vision Vol. 1 TP

I meant to pick-up Wacky Raceland. How is it?

What's this Divided We Stand thing about?

I think they young'ns gonna break off and do their own thing...which makes sense....more sense than them being Avengers.

Any good comic book podcasts that interview comic artists and writers?

I sub to Comic vine and Kevin Smith's Fatman.

Try Black Tribbles

Riri is cool, but it would help if she was actually tied into the actual Invicible Iron Man story.

idk if this is relevant but I am noticing the X-men related characters are starting to get a little push again from Marvel

They got beast, and nightcrawler in the ads for the ultimate Champions app

The death of Cyclops is being treated like a legit major story

and Gambit vs Deadpool (two fox movie properties) is also on their main page....... Not for nothing last year that comic isn't even made.

Its enough to think maybe Fox and Marvel finally came to terms with the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four.....:jbhmm:

DC Gets Its Own Ex-NBA Superhero..... :francis:

(yes, that's my own title to the article. what the fukk else was I supposed to say....)

DC's gun-wielding crusader the Vigilante is returning with a new series - and a new person under the mask. The Vigilante: Southland is a six-issue miniseries written by crime novelist Gary Phillips and drawn by Elena Casagrande scheduled to debut October 5.

“The Vigilante: Southland is incredibly relevant to our times,” said Phillips. “It’s a politically tinged story that touches on a myriad of contemporary issues, such as gun violence, class struggle and Black Lives Matter. The book also provides me an opportunity to contemporize classic issues/tropes, like the fight over water rights in Southern California. I’m very excited to show readers this character, reimagined for the 21st century.”

Set in Los Angeles, The Vigilante: Southland will introduce a new anti-hero named Donny Fairchild.

Fairchild is described by DC as a "failed NBA player who's just making ends meet as a maintenance man."

"When his girlfriend stumbles on a conspiracy to steal water rights through a series of shady land-development deals, she’s mysteriously murdered," reads DC's statement."Once Donny starts getting too close to the cause of her death, his house is blown up and he’s left for dead. Determined to bring the killers to justice, Donny undergoes training from an urban legend known as the Eastsider to become a masked vigilante."

This comes as the Vigilante is reportedly going to debut in the CW's Arrow later this year.

"This take on Vigilante incorporates current social and political issues, making The Vigilante: Southland both relevant and contemporary, which sounds like an incredible direction to take new stories featuring this character,” said DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Dan DiDio. “Gary’s experience with crime fiction will give Vigilante an edginess and grittiness that hasn’t been seen before.”

First of all.... there's a few people in here that have prolly seen me write up articles and TV show pitches for the "Vigilante" comic series from the 80's? :francis:

The one that was basically a deconstruction of the "Killer Killer" Punisher style of story? :francis:

The kind of story that shows a realistic portrayal of what would happen if a normal dude decided to grab a gun, put on a costume and kill nikkas daily? :francis:

Well.... this isn't that kind of story. :francis:

I am interested in this new Vigilante book just because it sounds like a comic book version of Chinatown, it features a black protagonist, the art looks great and its written by a black man.
All things that makes me want to read it.
