I'm pretty sure it was Tom Brevoort who said Steve Rogers was absolutely, completely dead after the original Civil War and there was no way to bring him back. Except they did bring him back. Brevoort is saying something similar this time that this is the real Steve Rogers and there's no fukkery going on -- it's just who he's always been.

Finished reading the new Cap and while I'm still not happy about it I have a feeling the cosmic cube has fukked up parts of Steve's life thanks to the Red Skull. I'll pick up issue #2 to see where this goes. The best part though is seeing cacs getting their panties in a bunch over this. That white anger:ohlawd:

Yeah. Too many reference to the cosmic cube for it not to. But it was a good read. How the hell they bring Jack Flagg back but still no Patriot. His return betterr be magnificent.

Yeah all throughout the issue they kept referencing the Cube so no doubt it will play a role. I hadn't read Pleasantville but did read the previous Sam Wilson Captain America and saw the Red Skull plotting. No doubt he has something to do with this since it is something he would do. Plus doesn't he still have Xavier's telepathy?

Maybe i'm just desensitized to it all but i didn't feel any type of way about the Steve Rogers reveal, other than initial confusion over what the hell i just read towards the end.

They wanted Sam Wilson as Cap, so they aged Steve. Then they wanted slight congruence with the Cap movie so they made Steve young again and without the shield but with a twist b/c they seem either bored or restless with the character.

I imagine similar fukkery when Ragnorak comes to theaters; peripherally Odinson will be Thor again with a hammer, Jane Foster Thor will be... somewhere else or deceased.. and Valykrie will take center stage, but it'll be some spin to it all that'll probably piss off the conservative Thor fans who have been biding their time for his return.

Falcon cap and Old Cap was pretty good to me. Bring Steve back and making his Hydra doesn't make sense. He's literally stopped them from winning solo (with no one there to even witness it) a dozen times if not more.

Rebirth was pretty good. I'm totally sold on the line now. I can also live with
pre-Flashpoint and New 52 Wally Wests being cousins both named after their great-grandfather

I teared up when
(pre-Flashpoint) Wally and Barry hugged.

"How could I ever forget you?" :mjcry:

I need to see if I can get another copy though because I got water on mine. :francis:

Cosmic cube made him young and gave him his power back
Now hes young again fukkin an old bytch :deadmanny:
Why is Sharon Carter old? Reading the new Cap I was looking at the artwork and was like "this chick looks old." I thought it was just the artist but when they showed Maria Hill and she was drawn younger I got confused.

The end result was a cool concept but the way they got to it was such convoluted bullshyt that you knew Marvel wasn't really behind it as a long term thing.

They wanted to play around with the idea of a retired Steve and Sharon growing old together and raising their 'son' to a young man, but there's a million and one reasons why you can't just go that route naturally/organically (or it was just a Remender thing). They honestly could've just kept it simple and spared us the heavy handed zola, son, daughter, trapped in alternate time dimension, aging of sharon thing... Just have a simple plot device turn steve old -even if (inevitably) temporary- and falcon would still be the most logical person.
