I liked Al Ewing's Mighty Avengers so I will check this out but I don't get the inclusion of Captain Marvel on the squad especially not if she is going to be the lead/leader of the team.
Its not like she brings a guaranteed number of extra readers to the book or anything.

Fortunately, the Dodsons aren't the artists for Ewing's Ultimates book and they were just doing a promotional variant. The Dodsons only know how to draw that same generic pam anderson white woman fluff and, like Frank Cho, they get pigeon holed into that lane... but at least with Frank, he has a better grasp on male anatomy/muscle structure when it comes to drawing other characters... whereas the Dodson are out here makin T'Challa look like a female :scust: b/c they don't know how to draw a non-female physique for shyt. Probably explains why they got Carol in front, since that's more there comfort zone (:mjpls:)

But the original cover posted a few weeks ago, with Galactus present, that's art from the actual artists on the book.

edit- and there is no leader, per se. but both BP and Carol each represent a third of the funding (Wakanda and whatever space organization replaced SWORD and put CM in charge).

Cho is better than the Dodson's. Just wish he drew full issues more often.

Dodson's are too same facey

Thankfully as someone else said it's just a variant by another artist and not the actual real cover so the poses and lineup position is irrelevant. Plus that's not the artist drawing the book or covers thank god.

Marvel will probably avoid doing this type of thing again because of this.

What's sad these guys are attacking Axel Alonso on twitter when his been championing the diversity thing since he became EIC at Marvel.

EDIT: Felipe Smith is black/latino also

I think the outrage really only comes from the black non-comic readers. They see something and want to attack. Well how about y'all pick up an effin comic instead of side-eyeing the ones that do.

:ohhh: I didn't even notice how effeminate BP and Blue Marvel looked until you guys pointed it out. Nice breakdown of the art style/artist.

I might even rep you for it.

:francis: might.

A lot of people are making the argument that Marvel is out of line appropriating an aspect of black culture while not having one black writer or artist working on any of their books.

Paying homage to some of black music's greatest albums by creating free art is an issue?

People need something real to happen in there life for them to have something to actually be mad at

We live in an age where people are in a state of perpetual outrage.
