So no one here has read the new Cap book where minorities are brainwashed into working at a flying plantation in the skies?

They don’t know what to do with him. Or, like with a lot of black characters, they be doing the most with these racially charged storylines.

Generally speaking, Sam is kinda cooked tho.

Question is, is he in need of another rebrand, or to revert back to Falcon, or for all to just accept that he’s more Khris Middleton than Kobe Bryant when it comes to marquee characters?

Now, he’s not as bad off as Rhodey, Drumm, and Bishop… in which pawging is the only significant thing they’ve done in the last 10 years (Carol, Wanda, Jean)… but he’s arguably still less interesting than them.

Yea the X-Men as is are played out.

What Hickman gave us was a needed palette cleanse, but Marvel simply lacks the foresight, interest, conviction, competence, innovation, etc., to drive needed change.

Let’s keep it a buck, this is the second time they botched it. Time Runs Out through Secret Wars was the perfect once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to end the continuity hindrance and reboot everything while picking n choosing the best elements (and characters) from any and every non-canon story ever told to merge into a new mainline universe…

The perfect send-off, complete buy-in from the readers, and they knew years in advance this was Hickman’s end goal…

But again, Marvel is scared of change. They rebel against it and eventually sabotage it to go back to status quo.

We are firmly in the post Krakoa era of the X-men. How would you rate the "From the Ashes" relaunch so far?

For me at has been a mostly forgettable. Storm, Pheonix and Psylocke have been surprisingly good. Everything else has missed the mark or been vanilla as hell.
Trash….. Complete fukking Trash. Even if it didn’t come after Krakoa it would be trash.

The main continuities in Marvel and DC are basically cooked. The best stories from both labels are elsewhere stories (absolute universe, ultimate universe, DC vs vampires, Avengers vs Aliens, whatever Tom King is writing, DCs Dark Knight of Steel universe, etc.).
Marvel should've rebooted their universe at the end of Secret Wars, but Hickman set them up with Maura as a reset as well.

The latest issue of Ultimates was so good.
Crazy reveals:
Namor's a mounted full body trophy
The new Red Skulls leader is Bucky
USAgent is a roided up Red skull follower and dies quickly

The traitor mentioned in the upcoming solicits is, IMO:
Wasp, since she's been described in this issue as a newbie who is such a pro that it somehow feels like she's been doing it for years

Another great issue this week.
Just an observation. Nazis are still universally evil in comic books. Dr Doom was killing Nazi's a few weeks ago as Sorcerer Supreme (even Dr. Doom believe Nazis are terrible). The Ultimates were killing Nazi's this week. And we now live in a country where Nazism has made a comeback. Just a weird time to be alive.
This week's Ultimates was full of current day commentary.

Anyone reading any old stuff? I'm always grabbing Kindle sales and adding them to TBR pile. I just never find them time to read any of them :pachaha:

I have been listening to the audio book of Batman: Resurrection. I like it. Cool way to introduce Clayface into the Burton-verse. They just announced a sequel book coming later this year.

They’re still going on with Batman 89 comic? I stopped reading current comics when the second mini-series dropped.

No, this is a novel that came out last year. It's set between 1989 Batman and Batman Returns. Same premise, but not a comic series and not connected to Batman '89. The next novel (by the same author) will introduce the Riddler.
