Oh shyt
I always wanted to see Hickman on a Spiderman book.
Oh shyt
I'm reading Hickman no matter what, but I wonder if this is Miles Morales returning to the Ultimate Universe.
I'm really intrigued on what he does with the book. On one hand I don't picture him having or taking a Spiderman pitch that is similar to what ASM has been for the last 15+ years. But on the other hand, I don't want Hickman to go to his usual formula of big ideas and going deep into lore (either new or a fresh take of something created before him), I'd love for him to try a more street level genre and see if he has what it takes to make that setting compelling.I always wanted to see Hickman on a Spiderman book.
I guess it depends how Invasion 4 wraps up.I'm really intrigued on what he does with the book. He'll probably take some of Slott's big ideas and give a new twist to them though, not sure I wanna read that
God I hope not.I'm reading Hickman no matter what, but I wonder if this is Miles Morales returning to the Ultimate Universe.
It would be weird if it's Miles considering Hickman made it a point in Ultimate Invasion to have Maker and Miles have a convo were Miles said he wanted to stay in 616.God I hope not.
Yeah, but editorial mandate and writer ideas don't always coincide. It would be weird if it's Miles considering Hickman made it a point in Ultimate Invasion to have Maker and Miles have a convo were Miles said he wanted to stay in 616.
That's true, would be hilarious if Hickman once again gets his big OG idea fukked by editorial, and this time around before he even starts writing the bookYeah, but editorial mandate and writer ideas don't always coincide.

Now that I think about it and with what we've seen so far in Ultimate Invasion, we will probably get a new universe with vastly different characters than what we see in the standard 616 universe (and not just a more modern version of characters like the original ultimate universe). It would be weird if it's Miles considering Hickman made it a point in Ultimate Invasion to have Maker and Miles have a convo were Miles said he wanted to stay in 616.
Hickman is also retconning Marvel's cosmic structure (probably lore too) and creating a whole new big thing in G.O.D.S. That book was his "other big pitch" alongside HoX/PoX so expect full on big ideas fukkery on that one.My first impression to the Ultimate news was that after Hickman got his parade rained on by first Avengers editorial in so many ways (Bendis) and then X-Men editorial... both cases you can argue he brought upon himself with his storytelling methods (grand and epic but takes too long to execute and requires a bit too much control over too many moving pieces)... that he looked at returning to the Ultimate universe as the way to have that creative freedom/autonomy he requires.
So if need be he can lose his damn mind again like the fukkery with Evil Reed over a decade ago. Of course, the big concern with something like the Ultimate universe and its fluid governance (compared to the "corporate" 616 universe), is you're always one new or returning writer away from getting shyt like Ultimatum where they go too far off the deep-end. But until then, i'm in.
shyt I had no idea there was a new ultimate mini series running... I fell off of comics hard this yearIt is. I have no clue how Ultimate Invasion will set it up though because there's only 1 issue left and it feels like that books has barely started
