Just finished Monkey Meat. If you're in this thread and haven't tried a Juni Ba comic - you're missing out! GOAT level artist IMO.

Inflation. :smh:

Also, this last arc of Saga was kind of a dud. Maybe because it was my first time reading it month to month (I waited until the hiatus to finally start it), but after a nearly four- year hiatus, it felt like the book came and went like a wet fart, only for them to turn around and go on hiatus again. :francis:

So Judgment Day ended with the mutants having control of another planet sized nuke-level power they can summon (1 hour of Uranos) :picard:

Resurrection for poor (human) kids :ehh:

Orchis going up on the popularity polls, no wonder Fall of X is next year :picard:

The Avengers were completely useless. I guess Aaron gonna keep writing them so they couldn't change anything for their status quo.

Judgment is every day brehs :demonic: :lupe:

Need to reread Judgement Day while sober.

Moon Knight continues to be crack. I feel like it's slept on, honestly. This whole run is what Moon Knight TV should have been. Actually Moon Knight has prolly had the most "excellent" runs on a comic in the last 20 years.

Vanish got some foul shyt going on in it. Wizards teaching kids there'll always be more evil no matter how you stop it.... by taking them to 9/11 and only stopping the first plane.

Thunderbolts continues to be a fun read. Clint relearning how to be a leader, Monica acting like she's a better leader, Mockingbird gonna be in the next issue so you know I'm all over it. Not enough Purple Lady this issue. But Eegro was there, so I might allow it

Damn Them All: It reads like they told Simon Spurrier he couldn't write John Constantine so he just made his own. It's gritty as shyt, too. I think it's funny how everybody been biting Hickman's use of text pages in comics, but I'm with that, too. Not that Dr. Strange/Dr. Fate brand of magic, either. The real, historical DARK stuff. All the stuff that they brought up or used (can't speak for the summoning ritual) is the REAL DEAL The books mentioned, the demons mentioned, the seals and drawings they showed, all of that stuff is from real world old school Key of Solomon level sorcery books. Nah I'm not typing none of it out. If you're interested, just go read the issue and look stuff up. Yes, I love the series already and it's only the first issue.

Still need to read Wildcards, X-Terminators, Batman: Fortress, Strange, New Mutants, Human Target, Flawed, Bloodshot, DC vs Vampires

Still need to watch Jodie's sendoff in Doctor Who.

New job been keeping me busy.

I know I maybe in the minority but Judgment Day was subpar for me. The Avengers were useless and it felt more like an Erernals story with the Mutants shoe horned in. Maybe Like X of Swords, it'll read much better in trade format. (I thought this was subpar as well but it's actually aged pretty well.) Most of the plot just did not resonate with me nor did the villains.

My biggest gripe with the story was that the Mutants jobbed alot to push the plot forward. Which, because of the nature of Krakoa was always going to be an issue.

Finding compelling villians and ways for the Mutants to face adversity is difficult when you have Mutants at your disposal who can alter reality, manipulate the fundamental forces, are high level psionics etc etc all under one roof.

I did like nightcrawler, jean, magneto storm and exodus getting some great character moments and some power feats.

But I'll definitely read it all again and see if it reads better that way.

1.- Oh, no doubt JD was a continuation (and ending) of Gillen's Eternals run. The whole event is more enjoyable if you read and like what he did there (which I did). The Avengers were there so they could sell more books and promote it like a big deal. I liked the concept of Mutants being a loophole in the deviants mandate the Eternals have.

2.- Eh, I'm fine with mutants taking Ls. They've been winning for 3 years basically and even in this event they were the ones that saved the day thanks to Nightcrawler, Jean, Magneto, Storm and Exodus.
