I hope the Hickman X-men rumor is true. My favorite Marvel team needs it :mjcry:

It was a long standing rumor that Hickman's original illuminati lineup included some combination of Magneto, Cyclops, and/or even Storm. Prof X was an og but died in AvX so Hickman wanted to use Magneto, also wanted Storm to be on the team and creeping with BP late at night.

X-office didn't fukk with him tho. Alledgedly.

Would've been very interesting how things could've gone if he had access to all the toys.

Would've answered how the fukk Scott Summers had a fukkin phoenix egg in his back pocket that whole time

tbh, Marvel's been a bit all over the place since Hickman left, and even more so once they lost faith in "ANAD" and started throwing shyt on the walls with shock event drivel (AXIS, CWII & Secret Empire).

We all had issues with Hickman injecting more subplots in his stories than he could resolve, but it was very cool seeing the big picture unveil itself, as well as the interconnectivity of so many characters across the 3-4 Avenger books he wrote. Sometimes felt less like Avengers and more like F4, BP, Cap, or DS books depending on the subplot.

The ANAD teams (ANAD Avengers, Ultimates, Squadron Supreme, and Uncanny Avengers) could've benefitted from that syngergy... this current Avenger team is trying to be grandscale epic but lacks the heart, and x-men always just seems like a clusterfukk of stuff happening.

I figure Marvel would love to have Hickman back and would give him even more leeway given how MCU influential his work has been, but i wonder what Hickman actually gives a shyt about these days

didnt axis happen before all new?

shyt, I dont remember lol

That would mean axis was before Secret Wars??

Edit- you're right it was,
Superior Iron man

Yep, Axis was before Secret Wars and ANAD.

I think the best thing that came out of that was Inverted Tony. Pure comedy. Probably unintentional, but comedy nonetheless.

* Why dont DC or Marvel give Gail Simone one of their flagship titles or a big event?! She is knowledgeable of the characters, she doesn’t write characters out of character, she makes it a point to use characters who’ve been shelved or written awful n revitalizes them (see Secret Six)
Gail has been given the reigns of the whole new superhero comics line at Lion Forge.

The first book looks like it is going to be cool:

Not to mention Bendis being a lowkey deuchbag lol. Just my impression but it felt like he didn't fukk with Hickman and was being lowkey petty about certain things, like wanting to start Invincible Ironman right off the bat with the Dr. Doom reveal, knowing damn well it'd be a major spoiler if Secret Wars had any delays.
I'm actually glad Bendis is gone

Marvel are spreading the love with the dope artists now when they would have been stuck on a Bendis book before

Fukk Bendis, he's been winging it since Dark Reign/Seige ended. Became a caricature of his greatest hits that weren't that great to begin with. Just had great setups

And Marvel happily bent over backwards for damn near anything he wanted the last few years, no matter how illogical

i.e. I dont fukk with Carol but I did read KSD's run and so comparatively Civil War II read like straight up character assassination by Bendis.

Hickman's problem in Marvel has always been editorial getting in his way. Him being forced to cut short Secret Warriors and Fantastic Four are still the two biggest crimes Marvel has committed since One More Day.

yeah, Hickman never had a problem with his plots and subplots.

He had and always had everything meticulously planned.

The problem was Editorial stalling his shyt in favor of whatever Bendis wanted to do.... something that they didn't do whenever any other main writer had their projects play out.

In my opinion, it goes back to Marvel letting Bendis claim he was writing Secret Warriors when it was Hickman the whole time. But I've practically written essays here on how Diva-ish Bendis is and how Marvel let him get away with it, prolly cause of the money Marvel Media has made.

We know he aint write or plot that shyt.

past that point, everything Hickman did with his plotting, shyt got wrecked so Bendis could get his dull ass shine on.

Dumb ass Marvel still trying to recover from Bendis fukking up their comics.... by making their comics copy their movies and TV. :francis:

Neither DC or Marvel is interested in giving the lead slot to anyone who isn't going to sign an exclusive contract. If I remember correctly, she's been off that for a while.

Also, where'd you hear about the Hickman X-Men thing? That'd be fukking AMAZING.

In this very thread. Bout 2 or 3 pages back.

I did not enjoy this round of DC/Looney Tunes books as much as I did the last one.

There was no Batman/Elmer Fudd level book in the bunch. The best one was Lex Luthor/Porky Pig.
