at them doing that parody vignette in the end pretty much recognizing this n°1 was mostly a cash grab and what fans wanted will happen next month. Didn't even try to be slick about it
It bummed me out that most of what Zdarsky did in Two In One was thrown to the bushes. There was 1 line of dialogue acknowledging they went looking for the fam through the multiverse and that was it, Ben and Johnny have their powers (I guess that could be explained in the coming issues of Two-In-One though) and I had no clue what was going on with Doom, I haven't read anything else involving him so maybe that was part of another comic? idk.

I was wondering what folks thought about the new F4 series in here. I enjoyed it to be honest it made me look forward to their eventual arrival into the MCU
Reading Piskors X-men Grand Design “Second Genesis”
I love the retro look/style. Like this is something I haven’t realized I’ve been missing with recent comics. Some of the panels are so creatively put together I just sit there with a grin on my face. I also love how dense the issue is. It’s taking me a while to go through it to make sure I don’t miss any little detail.
Did anyone read the last run he did? I know he also did Hip Hop Family Tree which was pointed out to me at the comic shop where they had two big beautiful hardcovers that are on my list now.
Robocop: Citizens Arrest: This book is dope. Basically, OCP has completely killed off the police force, and Alex Murphy is out of action due to a new 'retirement code.' All crimes are reported by an app called R/Cop, where people report crimes, and if they're correct, they get money and prizes, like luxury condos in the gentrified New Detroit. I'm loving this so far, and was looking for some good sci-fi/cyberpunk comics. Between this, WWE and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Boom Studios is killing it with these licensed comics.
Amazing Spider-Man: I was out of comics during most of the Superior and Parker Industries days, but I had heard about them, so the first issue was exhausting with Peter being broken down yet again and we're reminded what a fukk-up he is. It did make him and MJ getting back together more meaningful, I suppose. As far as this issue, though, nothing too crazy here. Interested to see where the split Peter and Spider-Man storyline goes. It was established in Issue 1 that the rest of The Avengers and Defenders already hate Spider-Man, so this Spidey with all the power and none of the responsibility will undoubtedly fukk up his relationships with them even more. Yay.
Black Badge: Interesting enough, but not really sure what's going on yet. It's about a group of boy scouts who have to go on crazy black ops missions to get their 'Black Badge.' But at this point they don't entirely know what the missions are or what they're being sent to do.
They travel on a class trip from North Korea to South Korea under the assumption that they're supposed to capture a nuclear scientist, until a bomb gets dropped on the house he was supposedly in. One kid freaks out about it, while one of the others says not to question it because it was for a reason. So expect some double-crossing
Superman: Reports are coming out that DC is already having buyer's remorse about Bendis. It's probably bullshyt, but I can see his tenure already falling short of expectations. This book feels so... flat. Nothing really happened, in large part because of his decompressed storytelling, and Bendis clearly has no real grasp on the Justice League characters, especially Flash. "Caca Poo Poo" was bad enough, but it feels like he just saw the trailer for the Justice League movie and based his characterization for Barry based on that (if that even was Barry. A coloring error gave him red hair like Wally). Also, the Earth being stuck in the Phantom Zone is an awesome concept that sadly is only being contained in this book (not even Action Comics seems to acknowledge it).
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps: I really wish they could have gotten a couple more issues, or at least a double-sized finale because this book was horribly rushed. The pacing was way too fast for them to try to cram the whole final battle with the Tomar-Tu and the Darkstars into 33 pages. I still don't buy that Zod would agree to John's plan of no lethal force, and I don't care for the idea that
He would watch Tomar-Tu kill himself and just be like, "Well that nikka dead " and fly off
I'll be interested to see what his relationship with the GLC is after this Supergirl arc though. I also hate Hal "Roman Reigns" Jordan being Deus Ex Machina and
single-handedly saving the day... again. We get it, he made a ring forged from his own will. Still anticlimactic AF that he destroyed all the Darkstars from within, by himself, with his own willpower.
Very disappointing and underwhelming final issue to what had been one of my favorite books. Though, technically, the story's not over, since the current "Evil's Might" arc of Green Lanterns takes place after this.
Supergirl: Probably my favorite book of the week. Not a lot to say here, just some set-up for the upcoming arc that I'm very excited for (I made a post about it a couple days ago). This is the Superman family book to read.
Flash: Fun start to the new arc, where Flash and Commander Cold try to learn about the Still, Strength and Sage forces. Don't expect any follow-up to the fallout from Flash War with
Impulse returning from the Speed Force and Wallace learning that he didn't exist pre-Flashpoint
. Like Batman post-wedding, I suspect they'll let that storyline cool off for a few months.
Fantastic Four: Cute issue, but doesn't this spoil the fukk out of Marvel Two-In-One? I figured they wouldn't find Reed, Sue and the kids in that book, but it seems odd to bring Fantastic Four back while that book is still ongoing and so highly acclaimed.
