There was something called the Life seed the used to stop his hunger and it turned him into life bringer. He didn't have a say but was grateful to them for it.

Aaron said that the Avengers big 3 (Thor, Cap, IM) is essentially a big 4 now (BP) and that it's time to give BP his due as front and center on such a team.

In an interview with IGN, Aaron said Black Panther won’t be a sideline player on his team and will be a high profile player.

"I think the Big Three of the Avengers are really, really close to being the Big Four. I think Black Panther definitely deserves to be at the heart of an Avengers team like this, when you’re talking about the biggest, most iconic characters from that lineage.
