The brewery in town used to sell records for $1, I'd go in there with the same amount of cash the hipsters were spending on beer, and walk out with crates of records :pachaha:

I cleaned that place out, I wasn't even 21 years old yet but they let me in to buy records. :mjlol:
Do you still have all those records? :dwillhuh:

Record Store Day is mostly hype. You're better off watching the sales, rather than all the reissue garbage they're putting out. 75% of that stuff will be still sitting in record stores for next RSD. The only great thing I could say I got was dead stock Chicago salsa records from the 70s and that Light On the South Side masterpiece from when Numero Group had their RSD pop-up shop. That said, it's still fun to hit up all the stores, see all the diggers and people. Some of the stores have free food. Last year Dusty Groove here in Chicago had a damn magician lol. Unfortunately this year I'll be out of state in a smallish, mostly white city with only one record store. Assuming it will mostly be dad rock SMH

All part of the fun indeed.
Where I am, there are several stores.
Masta Ace and Marco Polo will do an in-store before a big concert that night. Also, several pubs have events...should be pretty cool. On my list, I only have one record that I have decided against because of the price. All the others are cool.
Yeah, you should check out that shop anyway and dig away :blessed:

You’re right. Man I was one of them get up early Saturday and stand in line for vinyl folks until I realized that a lot of the shyt that I wanted would still be in the store a couple days later smh. I’m doing it this Saturday because I’m going to be up anyway to go out of town so why not stop by when I get a chance? Anyway the only album I’m really looking for is
santigoldthegoldfire.jpg

and I’ll see what else I can find while I’m there. I won my turntable off s RSD raffle so I’ll always appreciate it for that reason.. I’m just not running to the stores early Saturday anymore

Ok I’m going to look for that Roy Ayers and Fela Kutcher album.. I MIGHT get that Furious Five album just depends on if I don’t find anything else. Might cop that Ed OG and the bulldogs if I see it.. That’s my favorite album from that crew.

Last year I spent a lot of time running around trying to get that Enter the Wu-Tang cassette and Dre Day 12". Now they sell that cassette at the mall and I've played that 12" two times in a year. lol not worth it. I do think its interesting seeing all the types of people that come out and how they differ from store to store.
