Going to Puerto Rico first week in February. I'll either be in Old San Juan or Condado. Which location would you suggest? And I guess this following question would kinda tie into the my previous question since but cities provide slightly different experiences: would you all suggest hotel or airbnb? Want a nice setup (views, amenities, room/ living area layout) but also want the social component.

What are some great restaurants you all would suggest? It could be secret gems to the fine dining as long as it's good food and good vibes.

I know there are some good festivals around this time... January and February in particular. Are there any that will be going around around the time I'll be going?

I've got a pretty good idea of the club options but don't mind additional input. I've heard Club Brava and Fifty Eight are the big ones, kinda costly but expect to see IG models, etc. But I've also heard La Placita and La Factoria are good too. What should I expect as far the dress code goes for all these spots?

Plan on getting a car rental. Is it necessary?

Anybody ever done or have suggestions for a big family vacation? Preferably with most of the activities centralized.

Trying to plan something for my auntie’s 60th birthday in April. About 15+ of us did Playa De Carmen/Tulum 2 years ago…..organizing/$ wise that wasn’t too hard since it was a resort with a few excursions.

She’s already been to Jamaica as well….she mentioned wanting to go to Aruba, but idk how that would work for the extended fam money wise.

Some of the potential spots I’m thinking of are:
- Jamaica (again)
- Turks & Caicos
- St Lucia
- Belize
- Catalina Island (heard it would be boring tho)
- Key West
- El Salvador

Any small bag recommendations for weekend trips?

Just went to Vegas for the first time this weekend. Had a great time at the Raider game. The bag I normally use is old and the filling is tearing and dropping all over the place.

Not carryon size but a smaller bag. So many options and I don't know what to choose.

St. Croix is a nice weekend trip if you have a ole lady or friend. Edit.

Read that wrong, thought you were asking for a cheap trip (small bag weekend trip) lol my bad.

I need a small bag too

Anybody visit Belize? Staying in San Pedro, any ideas are welcomed?

El Salvador is dope, went in 2022. The volcanoes, the beaches, food, locals are super friendly. They use USD exclusively so that made things easy. Did a coffee tour, I’m not much of a coffee drinker but apparently they have some of the best coffee in the world

Your dollars will go a lot further in El Salvador vs a few of the other spots you listed.

Consider Panama also

As of now, we’ve decided on Costa Rica… of all the options we’ve researched, outside of Mexico, it’s the most feasible financially. Most likely gonna end up staying primarily on an all inclusive resort with a few excursions here and there.

Still waiting for everybody to lock in, but it’s looking like it’ll be 1300 per person for resort & flights.

Why resorts? I never got the hype and this is coming from someone who travels internationally 2-3x a year.
What was your budget for that trip?
My moms is Panamanian so I got family there…never have to pay for a place to stay or food so I can’t give you a straight answer.

I’ll tell you this…if you stay away from the tourist spots in Panama City your dollars will go really far

Primarily because of the group size & age. It’ll most likely be over 14 of us. And the age range is from 10 to 67. And a 2 year old.

Everyone finances are different. And the resort just simplifies things, if certain people don’t wanna do x y or z, they can just chill and enjoy the resort.
