London is a funny city you’ll see someone in shorts and a tshirt, next person in a hoody and the next person in a winter jacket with a scarf :heh:

Honestly I love travelling but I was mad nervous I took my covid test two days ago to go back to Canada (need a pcr for Canada)

My flight is in 3 hours and I literally just got my results right now

if I didn’t I would have to schedule a flight for tomorrow and pay like 500 more plus another night in a hotel

Until this archaic rules are still enacted I may not travel

3 times in 6 days I had to do a covid test in double vaccinated and tested negative all three times

When I stayed at a resort in Jamaica they did a rapid pcr test for us. It was literally ready in 30 minutes. I didn’t pay a dime for it. I’m guessing it was already priced into the stay.

Also the antigen test is the only one needed to get back in.

uk is running a racket

shyt I'm glad I'm vaccinated and just travelled within the EU (Belgium and the Netherlands). No test whatsoever and in both countries they hardly ever check your status (as opposed to France where it's much more systematic in restaurants, museums, bars, etc).

Amsterdam was cool and really has beautiful areas with the canals but for some reason didn't expect it to be so expensive and squeaky clean. Obviously only saw central parts of the city. Loved how calm it was though, even though the weather probably had something to do with that. And the whole thing where people don't have curtains on their windows is strange af :lolbron:but anyway was my first trip since this whole bs started so felt really good just getting out of Paris.

breh that day 2 test a scam had to pay 150 dollars, whats worse is you have to order it in advance take the test yourself then find a drop box in the city to drop it off.
Then another covid test when you leave

Going back next month but hope to go to the EU as well

It’s some absolute fukkin deals out there. Bout to cop a r/t ticket from LA to Honolulu for like $175 and there’s a $300 ticket I saw from O’Hare to Singapore that I wouldn’t mind hopping on too

Now that I work fully remote, I'm really thinking about embracing that Nomad lifestyle.

Been looking at these Airbnb monthly rents like :ohhh:

You can legit stay months at, 5 star apartments / hotel overseas for a great rate.

What a time to be alive. :blessed:
Gotta take advantage of this freedom. :blessed:

but what about your wife and kids :troll:

A lot of people I know are doing this, it seems like fun, state hopping or posting up in a foreign city. I’m mulling one next year -month/half stay country hopping in Europe. Hybrid work/vacation.

I’m yet to travel internationally since the pandemic started but my dad has come the states from Nigeria like 4 times since the pandemic started.

Even worse is I had time off when I switched jobs last year but didn’t pull the trigger :francis:

Where you thinking of? I thought about that, but PST sucks. If I was still on the East coast I could dip to Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and stay in the same timezone or close to it.

If my company HQ was in London I could be remote pretty much anywhere in Africa :wow:

You should ASAP. Companies are getting hip to the nomad lifestyle and are putting some restrictions in place/increasing their digital monitoring (unless you work for yourself).

Biggest issue I have with the global working remote thing is the time zone. If you’re on the East Coast in the US and gotta keep to 9-5 business hours, working remotely in Europe or Africa will have you starting your workday at 2/3pm and ending at 10/11pm.

It really only works if you go due south (Latin America)…
