Cozumel worth it? Might check it out

beautiful island - one of the safest spots in Mexico . since there is not a lot of cruise travel now , its quiet.
and its probably more americanized than the rest of Mexico . 100,000 on the island , 30,000 of them are expats .
there is a development on the island called corpus Christi , because of so many Texans there.
the back side of the island is absolutely beautiful . the further you go back on the island , the cheaper the food and drinks. every thing up front where the ships dock has Gringo prices.

its worth a few days if you have time, but if you got your trip mapped out its not a must do, but you will enjoy yourself.

You gonna try Merida and Vallodolid?
Merida has about a million people there , but a huge black expat population. Vallodolid is only has about 45k and is very traditional Mexico ( hardly any english speakers) , not touristy at all.

those are the spots i know best , cause we went house hunting, but chose Cozumel since its more laid back.

Week 2 down.

Isla Muejeres was fukking amazing. No lie, I could stay there for months. On top of being paradise, the hostel i stayed at (selina) had amazing wifi and i was surrounded by a bunch of other digital nomads.

Made a few friends here. Relaxing lifestyle of morning yoga - work - afternoon sunset on the beach. repeat. Ill be back..

beautiful women everywhere obviously, i had to drag myself off to tulum. Regretting it, dont like tulum as much.

Week 3 down in tulum. Gotta be honest...it was just alright

Tulum is where you go with

  • a car
  • a big crew
  • an Airbnb (not a hostel)
  • And most importantly no curfew (11 pm in quintana roo while covid outbreak continues)

I mean, i still had fun, visited some cenotes, rented a bike and tried to do as much as I could. Made some friends at the hoestel i stayed at. but it just didnt have the chilled beach vibes I was hoping for.

I will say its filled with insanely attractive women. I stayed in the centro area, which is a bit far off from the hotel zone. We went ot clubbing one time. the hotel zone is a long strip of bougie beach bars one after another. Not much point in paying an $80 entry fee to a bar that closes within a couple hours, like i did one time.

i didnt take many pics this week, this is of the cenotes, the downtown sign and the hostel i was staying at

How was it? Thinking about doing either Chicago - Seattle or San Diego - Seattle

I actually enjoyed it. I had a room to myself. The food was pretty decent. The view was nice. I would recommend if you are someone who can enjoy the ride. My 25 hour trip was 29-30 because of delays.

Not 1, not 2..but 3 weeks in puerto escondido. backpacking paradise...

Where to even begin
- food / amount of restaurants, food trucks, food stalls, were awesome.
- hipster / backpacker district of la punta was unbelievable. super chill vibe, beach volleyball, hipster bars, good food, etc
- literally 5 different beach districts. Renting a scooter and it's an easy drive between areas, so you can hit multiple in a day. playa carizillo was my favorite
- tons of beautiful women

would grab a few beers and post up on the beach every sunset to watch the sun set into the pacific. started losing track of the days after a while. I could've stayed 3 months honestly

mexico city this week

What are you looking to do in either of those places?

It would be for 4 or 5 days. Leaning toward SF.

I’ve only lived in or been to pretty flat places, so I wanna check out the scenery in either place. Never tried weed, so I’d check out the dispensaries.

In SF : Maybe go see Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, Lombard Street, Cable Cars, museums. See if In N’ Out is worth the hype.

In Seattle: Maybe check out Pike Place Market, original Starbucks, Space Needle, museums, tour around Mount Rainier.

What island were you trying to go to? Had countless coworkers go recently and they didn't have to quarantine for 10 days. Depending on what island things are slightly different, but the hardest thing I've heard is trying to rent a car as there is a shortage of rental cars.

I'm trying to go to Europe or Africa. I currently have London UK booked but it's a six hour stopover :beli:

Last time I went to London it was direct
Last time I went to a country in Africa the stopover was two hours how now the shortest stopover I can find is 20 hrs

Island travel is boring but it's the easiest at the moment

I mostly was referring to Hawaii as I was looking to go there back in June myself as there wasn’t any quarantine to travel there.
