I’m at the Hilton Waikiki beach. It’s one block from the main strip Kalakaua and the ocean. I prefer this location because the strip gets packed with tourists sometimes. It’s on the diamondhead end of Waikiki, close to the zoo and queens beach park. It’s interesting to see how much it’s changed here in the last 10 years. A lot of new malls, gourmet food halls (Ayesha curry has a restaurant...food was some mid tho
), and lots of Japanese influence...high end shopping, Japanese restaurants, etc.
Cheap food options in Waikiki: Royal Hawaiian mall has a food court on its 2nd level, there’s an authentic Japanese food court call Yokocho, Michael Mina food hall in the international market place, and an outdoor food market on Kuhio & Kaʻiulani
Nightlife: Rumfire - legit nightclub on the beach, Bevy - hipster bar with cool cocktails, addiction - nightclub, tiki’s - beachfront bar
Hawaii is one of those places where global nomadic people stop for awhile. I’ve met people from all over the world in this last week. Also lots of people with $...me and my coworker have had random people paying our bar tab.
