I approve of this thread.

I used to be heavy into chess couple of years ago before I started training for my career. I had this program, I believe it was called Chessmaster 10, but it broke the game down to the very basics, built you up, taught strategies, and broke down classic games as well. It was piff.

But there's a podcast/radio show I listen to called Radiolab on NPR. On this podcast they research and present stories on a multitude of topics from Sleep to Stochastcity (randomness) to Ants.

I actually got my girl hooked on it. They continually are dropping knowledge on a variety of subjects and I challenge you to say you don't learn something new from every show.

I've always wanted to learn to play an instrument. Either the piano or the sax but there are no places near me that offer the opportunity to do that.

There's no shortage of ways to teach yourself these days breh. Hell YouTube itself is a vast resource for stuff like this. It's the kinda thing you just gotta put the work in. It's not like learning Algebra. I taught myself alto sax some years back. I'm rusty as hell now but it can be done.

i would learn how to make exotic dishes. F*ck a class, just get a recipe book, and practice until perfect. Recommendations:

Thai (especially the desserts)
Peruvian (especially anything ceviche or japanese fusion)
Mongolian (especially any mongolian meat dish)

Nikkaz and b*tches will be like, how the f*ck did you learn how to make this, and you'll be like :jawalrus:

I don't fully agree that you need wealth to be a well-rounded individual. The following are more or less free:

1. Voraciously devour media (books, music, movies, television)
2. Cook
3. Play a musical instrument
4. Honestly try to understand arguments against positions you hold
