I remember watching a John Carpenter discussion where he ethered those horrible movies

Considering he never wanted to make sequels to the original in the first place I completely understand his position. It's part of the reason people don't like 5 & 6 that much.
fukking THANK YOU. That’s the main reason I dislike the Zombie films right there in bold. Rob did too much and tried to humanize Mike by giving him a backstory of his family being dysfunctional ahhh Rednecks.
The whole point of Michael Myers is that sometimes there is no rhyme or reason behind someone’s terrible actions. Sometimes somebody is just an evil fukk who doesn’t deserve human sympathy or understanding. It’s partly the reason why I can’t fukk with the Jamie Lloyd/Cult of Thorn timeline (though Jamie as a character deserved so much better)

I like the 6th movie as standalone for the most part but yeah that shyt was unnecessary to the overall mythos of Michael
Even the Freddy movies ain't try to explain him too much. He was the kid of a bunch of crazy rapists and grew up to be a psycho child killer. That's all you need.

Even the 2018 remake didn't go into detail about why he did what he did. He was just a nikka who woke up one day and was like "I killing everybody!!!"
