I'm a follower because I wanted to share something with the crew that wasn't as it was above so below? :mjlol: My bad breh. I'll be sure to recommend such classics as Ouija next time. You in your feelings because I said that movie was trash? That's not the movie to cape for breh.
How about you just dont reccomend anything.

I remember when that film came out and everyone agreed it was so trash. You new age retro critics. :heh: fukk outta here.

Check the first few pages breh, recommended plenty of stuff when @Prodigal Syndicate started the thread.

And if you don't like new nightmare cool, I don't see how that would possibly offend me or hurt my feelings.

Ah okay got you. Glad you know me so well breh. I'm pretty sure there's a thread on here with everyone, myself included, bigging up movies that people don't mention or are slept on or people think are bad. Again just because I think that movie is trash doesn't mean you should get in your feelings. You act like you directed it
You arent the guy to reccomend a horror movie that hasnt been stamped and cosigned from a review board of nerds you respect first. Just stop. I know your style boy.

What else was on the list breh

I love classic horror. My go-to is almost always Universal:

The Creature Walks Among Us
The Phantom of the Opera (1943 version)
House of Frankenstein

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (don't care what people say, it's a fun movie and what the first one should've been)

I'd been watching all kinds of horror movies since September though.

I haven't seen that version of phantom of the opera. I just saw Chaney's version last year and loved it. I need to get my universal classics game up tho.

I saw requiem on tv so I really can't even count that experience. On the predator tip tho, I really like predators and predator 2. Predator 2 is especially gory and bloody for Halloween.

Yeah, the three Predator movies are all good. AvP:R was just dumb fun, but I still liked it. The video release has the unrated version as well.

I LOVE the Universal Monsters. Those are my favorite horror films. Just saw the 1931 Dracula in the theater the other week. It was a presentation from Turner Classic Movies.

That was my first time seeing the '43 Phantom. It was pretty good but lacks the shock and creepiness of the Lon Chaney version. Definitely a major production though. They gave it the Technicolor treatment and everything.

Okay as someone who loves it and probably knows more about it than me, which do you like more: the american Dracula with Lugosi or the Spanish one?

Bela had the charisma, the Spanish version had the better direction, editing and story (it's about 30 minutes longer). Tod Browning complained that the Spanish version was so good because they got to watch and learn from mistakes the American film was making (Spanish version was filmed at night after the American version would wrap up).

Because of Bela, the English version is definitely the more iconic (he played Dracula on Broadway for a few years before being cast in the movie) and I would rather watch that one when given the choice.

Yup, that's how i feel exactly to a tee. American is more iconic, Spanish version is better. And I watched a doc on my dracula DVD that gave all that info and I was dying at how heated Browning must've been and how heated I would've been too
