I hated this movie breh
I wanted to love it being that I grew up watching the universal monster movies as a kid
(Bela, Boris & Lon :salute:) but they took a steamy shyt on the original version something fierce. OG version has amazing atmosphere and it was non-existent in the remake :sadbron:

I liked We Are Still Here... Seen it a while ago from what I remember the movie was solid but you could tell the director didn't have a big enough budget to do everything he wanted with the flick.
The writer/director actually took issue with one of my criticisms on Twitter after I posted a review but I rarely look at my Twitter and I feel its been too long for me to reply back to him.

Also watched Last Shift over the weekend and loved it.

Poe and molly :mjcry:

In spirit of that I first reviewed

Lovely-molly-poster.jpg

Its a 2011 film with a 41% RT score.:jbhmm:

This is a supernatural horror film (or is it?) In which molly and her husband move into her abandoned childhood home. Mollys husband is a truck driver and is often travelling leaving molly alone. Shortly after moving in things start to go strangely in the house. While not overtly frightening the movie does build a nice unnerving atmosphere and story. I wont spoil too much but theres a nice parallel running where youre not sure if whats happening is real or the result of molly having a breakdown and everything being in her head. I personally thought the ending definitely answered that BUT I can see an argument towards either side. The actress playing molly basically has the entire movie riding on her shoulders and she does admirably really capturing the panic and uncertainty.

A 2008 film with a 3% RT score :patrice:

This movie is garbage. Complete and utter garbage. Dont waste your time, its not even worth describing it. Theres no point to this film, theres not one well made scene, not one scare, not one interesting idea. Avoid at all costs.

A 2011 film with a 49% RT score

I had heard of this movie briefly before, even heard some good things. The jist of the movie is a wife has her husband declared dead after he vanished 7 years ago, suddenly she starts having visions of him. Shortly after he returns out of nowhere. He has no idea where hes been or what happened but hes clearly not the same, and traumatized. The rest of the fiom is obviously trying to figure out what happened to him? Now,I find being low budget in horror has never been a negative,in fact it usually leads to creativity. The problem with this film is it has some really nice ideas and a couple geniunely well done creepy scenes BUT the acting is distractingly amatuer. These are not actors. They feel like nervous people they found off the street. It really saps the movie of any effectiveness when you dont believe in any of the performances.
