The Crazies is one of those rare instances where the original and the remake are both good movies.
The remake just went for a straight horror as I can remember but it did have scary scenes.

Rewatching the original I remember how much of it just tries to play the omniscient perspective. Yeah it follows those two dudes and the lady but there are so many scenes where he just bounces around with the camera and shows anonymous people being uprooted, ruin in the town and the military men dryly discussing “cleanup” of people dying as collateral damage. Funny to think about this as a movie about another end more sober view of societal breakdown as compared to Dawn

Shudder - Halloween all year round
Every scary series and horror movie hitting Shudder in January
Shudder in January: Start 2020 Off Right With THE DEAD LANDS, THE MONSTER SQUAD And TAMMY AND THE T-REX Gore Cut
January 2020 presents:
As the holiday season comes and goes you may find yourself dealing with a touch of the post-holiday blues. Never fear because Shudder has loaded up their schedule in January with lots of goodies. It truly is the gift that keeps on giving. If your New Year’s resolution is to watch more incredible horror, you’ve come to the right place. January serves up an unbeatable lineup featuring The Dead Lands, a Māori supernatural action-adventure series set in a mythical New Zealand past, the exclusive streaming premieres of untamed Australian horror The Marshes and arthouse-meets-grindhouse masterpiece Bliss, and great new additions to the Shudder library that include two bold, inventive takes on the demon genre with Luz and Demon, and cult favorites like The Monster Squad and the restored Tammy And The T-Rex
Everything kicks off on New Years day with Ti West's The House of the Devil, Tilman Singer's Luz and the 80s classic, Fred Dekker's The Monster Squad! That's a nice way to work off that hangover.

And for our friends in the UK, 2020 is certainly going to be an interesting year. Why don't you take your mind of off England's continued cock-uppery with a really good January. UK subscriber will get films like Heathers, All Cheerleaders Die, Cub and When Animals Dream. It's not all bad everyone.

Ya'll think Juice was a horror film?

Can you explain to me why it's not a horror film? We have serial killer, who sometimes appears from know where killing a bunch of teens and old people.

:deadmanny::deadmanny:Are we talking about Juice as in Omar Epps, 2Pac Juice?? Trick question right? He was not a serial killer. He killed one of his friends and Radames. He was a menace, not the definition of a mass murderer or serial killer. I think the girl from Orphan had more bodies that he did in that movie.

The amount of kills don't matter. The method and way he appears and disappears, is a clear horror trope.

Hulu has another one :umad:- Blumhouse Into the Dark presents: Midnight Kiss. In the latest saga of the hulu's original horror series/

I watched this one today...it was on par with the levels of mediocrity of the majority of the INTO THE DARK series.

One heads up for anyone who has yet to see the trailer or read the synopsis: this movie is gay as hell. I'm talking about many, many shots of man ass, dudes kissing, dudes blowing one another, dudes fukking...just straight up a gay horror movie.
If that bothers you then you might want to stay away.
