The lords of salem. It was trash.

I think I just don't like his aesthetic and pov as a director. Not every director has that but the auteurs and horror directors (who are often auteurs) do and I don't fukk with his at all

I remember being so hype for house of 1000 corpses.

Its first teaser trailer was atmospheric and understated had me interested,juat some simple white text on black and two guys in hazmat suites digging up graves in the dark rain with hundreds of crosses. Then it being dropped and rumoured to be too fukked up for release so the distributor dropped it because zombie wouldnt tone it down.

It just built up this allure in my head.


Then when I finally saw it


It was so amatuerish. Horrible acting,horrible directing. No original ideas. Just campy horror and it felt like it was filmed like a white zombie music video.

Basically. It's all him just taking the vibe of his band and making films of it. Grant it, RZA does the same thing but I also don't think RZA is that good yet.

Passed out trying to finish up Hellions last night but wasn't impressed with what I saw so far. Way too artsy with no direction, just random shots for the sake of randomness. The plot twist if you will was predictable from the jump and I already know what's coming with the ending.The cinematography is the only redeeming value thus far.

I'll still finish it up tonight and give my final thoughts, but these newer art house horror flicks that show promise in the trailers are all falling flat (ya you Goodnight Mommy).

The Witch better not disappoint. .

they do play it over there, anniversary showings at retro picture houses/cinemas..
I saw it in the cinema back in 83 in NY..yes im that old..lol
also saw it with john landis in london around 2009 the week MJ passed away..
one of my fave films.

the devils rejects was okay, it seemed like a post apocalyptic type of movie and his choice in music for the soundtrack, was alot like tarrantino
