It was awesome right? That’s what I meant by saying you can’t do spit on your grave anymore cause revenge kinda blew that up. Stylistically, tonally, and from a messaging standpoint.

Even the climax is just an inverse of the typical shyt we get from those movies. Hard to believe that actress is the same lead actress in Rings:francis: that movie is ass cheeks. Glad she got something dope to do
:blessed:That movie was dopeness, no complaints. It had that artsy feel to it, much deeper than the average vengeance type movie. I have never wanted a group of deviants:smh: to get it like those 3.
I didn't know that was the same actress from Rings, she leveled up for sure with this one and showed her range. Engaging movie.

Finally got a chance to watch Revenge on Shudder- shyt was intense. I’ll add Predestination to the list.

Revenge felt like the #metoo- ed version of I Spit on Your Grave. I had to chuckle at a few lines. But overall good movie- even mesh of atmospheric tension, psychology and violence/gore factor.

I liked this a lot. It gave you all the tropes you'd expect from a movie like this but also flipped some of the more unseemly and exploitative male gaze kind of stuff that these types of movies usually get criticized for.

Yeah I love revenge. All the shyt you said plus the colors. It’s a gorgeous ass movie.

And fukk all 3 of those dudes. Had it coming :manny:

And yeah same girl from rings. Amazing what a good director and good script can do for you :russ: feels like everyone in Rings knew they were in a piece of shyt

The cinematography was amazing. Everything looks so crisp and bursting with color.

Still working my way through their stuff but yeah Amicus is great. I don't know what took me so long to get on their movies.
I was lucky to have watched them in the late 70's & 80's along with hammer studio's!
Amicus is like the greatest horror anthology!the uncanny is underrated, the anthology about cats.

Yeah I watched some Hammer horror years back and then recently this year watched Hammer House of Horror (which is also good). A thirst for anthologies lead me to finally checking out Amicus. I've heard it described as being 'cheesy' in the past but I've really enjoyed it.

IIRC the only Amicus I watched years ago was Tales of the Crypt but I think that was solely off the title because I loved the show. I wasn't even thinking about checking out their other anthologies until recently. They're really fun and I guess somewhat underappreciated because I don't hear folks really talk about them like that.
