Have yall seen Unfriended: Dark Web. If so, reviews?
another poster in a few comments back commented that it was trash and not worth seeing even if it was a free screening..
:laff:

, but I didn't think the first one was too bad; I'm going to see this one out of poor curiosity with low expectations.

Any good?
I was looking forward to it, only watched the first episode so far; it's just ok, nothing to get as hyped as I was waiting for it. Not as thrilling or engaging as I would like it to be. There's 3 episodes that were put out so far; I'll know more after I watch those other 2.

This is the reason I decided to subscribe to Hulu but after watching the first 3 episodes that were dropped I am a bit unsure about the show. There are moments that are good but overall there just feels like something is missing in the way the story is unfolding and we are being introduced to the major characters as well as the character of the town of Castle Rock itself.
I am still in for the long haul but I was hoping to be sucked in and engrossed by it from episode 1 and that didn't happen.
Kind of disappointing for me- Like you, I was expecting to be engaged and involved with it from the first moment. I've had Hulu for awhile but I had this one 'queued' up since they announced it was a series some time ago. I only watched the first ep, so far, and I'll wait until I get a few more eps in to really see how it goes. (they released the 3 but I only had time to watch the first one). It's Stephen King, usually his shows/movies have the slow build up and character development timeline.

This was disturbing- watched it last night to help me stay awake while I was finishing up some work. At first, I thought it was some basic, no frills documentary to have in the background, but then as it progressed...
:merchant:(it worked, I was awake for most of the night...doom and uneasiness factor ).
Background - Based on the real life viral news story, incidents and police reports that were circulating back in 2014 about a black family in Gary, Indiana, who experienced demonic possession, paranormal and ghostly entities, called the Ammons haunting case (Ammons haunting case - Wikipedia). http://www.destinationamerica.com/t...-house-was-said-to-have-more-than-200-demons/ . The lead in says this film is cursed due to the demonic activity attaching itself to different devices and viewer is warned to "watch at own risk". I risked it..
:manny:
Their house was labeled as the "portal to hell'. Documents the family experiences and each person who has since come in contact with the house since that time (social services workers, doctors, priests, police captain.. Indiana Department of Child Services intervention, multi-agency police investigation, etc)...The dude from Ghost Adventures produced this.

I watched this too the other day. Just found out that it’s an actual documentary. I thought for sure it was a movie made to look like a documentary. I might have to give this a re-watch, knowing that.

That's what got me- I thought it was a movie or a movie made to be a re-enactment; but that whole real story/life events and experiences documentary aspects of it, threw me off..combined with real time footage; I wasn't ready. The fact they included the real families that lived there, interviews with the doctors, police investigators, and every one involved that had the same stories, compilations from legit local/national news stories. That's one of those where it was interesting to watch and see what took place, but I'll never watch again.. had me kind of shook.

Have you watched it-was that any good? I added it to my watchlist but keep skipping over it bc of the description; not big on zombie movies atm.
I liked it. It was a pretty original take on the zombie genre and considering how well worn that genre is I tend to give high marks to any film that can do something new with it.

At 1:10 in the trailer where the demonic voice shouts "Who in there?" in the most old black uncle voice imaginable is funny as hell.:pachaha:

This movie was so boring.
It was like a smooth 50 minutes into this movie before any spooky shenanigans happened and even those were tepid at best.
And I am kinda getting annoyed by these ghost/demon movies that follow all of the same beats and don't try to do anything new.

One of the worst things to have happen is a horror movie that's relying on building tension without hitting crescendo.
