I watched Phantasm for the first time this weekend.

The music was great. Idk if someone in here said it was like a Giallo, but I feel like it was inspired by Suspiria.

I started watching Phantasm II, but I enjoyed it so far. It's crazy that it was 9 years later and they got a lot of returning characters. That almost never happens.

Here's two Horror movie trailers. The first is TOGETHER which has Alison Brie and Dave Franco in what looks like a body horror movie. The second looks is a supernatural film that has the David Dastmalchian stimi. I'm getting some The Sect 1991 vibes from it, as well as some other movies.

I’m watching The Parenting and it irks me how screenplays with some meh comedy are approved. The opening scene with the cat scenario was some straight up high school teen writing. :scust:

Edit: ok, I think it’s picking up in the second act. :skip:

Edit 2: I was right the first time. That one scene was the only real laugh I got. :beli:

Overall, it’s just all right, but the comedy is very weak; a few moments of chuckles here and there. The older cast saved it because the young cast was whack. Despite that, none of the characters were memorable or made me want to care for them.

First act was cringe for the most part until the parents arrived. The climax was whack too. Just some dumbass shyt. :scust:

Wild to see Edie and Lisa age. Pretty cool to see actors from for big hit shows in it.

I started it, got the same vibes that you did early, and turned it off. I was thinking of giving it a second shot since the supporting cast looks strong, but it sounds like I won't be missing out on much.

Yeah, it’s forgettable despite the cast, which is why I watched it in the first place. It’s basically, “what if the Exorcist tried to be funny?” Heavy on the “tried” part.

I started watching Masters of Horror. The first episode is by Don Coscarelli who did Phantasm. It also has the Tall Man in it:gladbron:

So far the 2nd one by Stuart Gordon was my favorite. I didn't expect them to put that much into a weekly TV Show. So far the first three hit in their own unique way.

Masters of Horror was GREAT! I really like the Carpenter and Miike entries. I think I did a series binge and ranked the episodes once in this thread. But I have to see if I can find it.
