Just saw mads and get away on shudder.

I thought lads was good. It was solid. The way people were talking about it, I thought it would be something more. But it was still good so I can’t complain. I’ll give it a 8.5 .

Get away was funny. Dark humor horror film. I’ll give it a 7.5. It was cool if you want some laughs. Just purchased shudder. I was tripping. Don’t know why I waited so long.

If anyone has any recommendations, plz help a brotha out lol
Grafted and Companion were both good. I'm hearing a lot of hype for Stephen King's The Monkey (Osgood Perkins doing a horror-comedy) and Heart Eyes (apparently, it's a Rom-Com/Slasher hybrid but people keep telling me it works). But I haven't watched 'em yet, just name-dropping since I've heard good things.

I watched the Lake Placid series

(how it made it to six flicks in this series , i will never know)
it popped up on my plex share and I was like , "fukk it":yeshrug:

Lake placid (1999)

Fun Movie. all the characters are Snarky as hell, which made their interactions hilarious.
CGI could have been better , but its an entreating movie.
Actually has a solid cast ( Bill Pullman, Betty White, Oliver Platt, Bridgette Fonda, & Steve Miner of Friday the 13th directed and the FX was solid

Lake placid 2 (2007)
the start of the syfy channel run

tremendous drop off in Quality from the first
Got racist a$$ Bo Duke as the lead
it damn near a remake of the first , with the exception of adding kids in distress to the mix
this seems to be the main plot point throughout the SYFY series of flicks
CGI is laughable

Lake placid 3 (2010)

Solid Cast - decent flick
Colin Ferguson - (must have owed him a favor for Eureka being cancelled)
Drunk a$$ Yancy Butler
Michael Ironside _ grossly underused in this flick

More Kids in distress , more bad CGI crocs
trapped in a cabin trope

Lake Placid: The Final Chapter (2012)

They tried to add to the lore with this one
Robert Englund shows up in this one ( that Freddy money must be stretched thin)
Yancey Butler's drunk a$$ is back yet again

this one is actually decent

Lake Placid vs. Anaconda (2015)

competent cast
Robert Englund and Drunk a$$ Yancey Butler return, with a Corin Nemic sighting to round out the cast
second best of the series to me just because of the fukkery
Sorority girls in distress for this one ( or WWID - White Women in Distress)
bloodier than i though it should be

Lake Placid: Legacy (2018)

This is actually a TV movie that really had nothing to do with Lake Placid that Syfy bought and re packaged as a Lake Placid flick

It Tried:
the rebooted the croc - different origin story - experiment with ancient reptile DNA gone wrong
decent kills , but the movie is just so damn........DARK
like some scenes you cannot see a damn thing

the original will always be the best
will probably never watch any of the sequels again unless they are on TV and absolutely nothing else is on

I'm back after a little break.. finally watched 'Longlegs' now that it's up on Hulu. I really enjoyed about 80% of this movie, I felt it was shot very well and the creepiness factor was leveled up. Cage was outta control, completely unrecognizable to me.

The ending

Left me a little bit confused. Now that the dollmaker and the accomplice are both dead shouldn't that be it for the murder spree? I felt like they're trying to tell us it ain't over.

Also, what are we to believe about the 'brains' that allow them to control minds?

Overall this was pretty good, it seems divisive on here but most people I talk to were telling me that they liked it.

Has anyone watched A Knights War from this list? I really want to see a Diablo, or just any medieval horror movie but the production values here:patrice: The reviews seem good. I just might watch it by myself.

I forgot The Gorge was coming out with Anya Taylor Joy. I'll definitely try to watch that this weekend.

Superdeep
The Kola Superdeep borehole is the largest Russian secret facility. In 1984, at the depth of more than 7 miles below the surface, unexplained sounds were recorded, resembling the screams and moans of numerous people. Since these events, the object has been closed. A small research team of scientists and military personnel had gone down below the surface to find out the secret that the world's deepest borehole was hiding. What they have found poses the greatest threat that humanity has ever faced. Now the future of the world is in their hands.
Directed by: Arseniy Sukhin.
Starring: Milena Radulovic, Sergey Ivanyuk, Nikolay Kovbas, Kirill Kovbas and Nikita Dyuvbanov.
Premieres: June 17
